drupal hosting

Hola hola. Mi sitio ha estado teniendo problemas graves de velocidad. Está sumamente lento y estoy empezando a considerar pasarme de hosting. He estado con el mismo proovedor de hosting, HotDrupal, por más de tres años. En general ha funcionado muy bien, pero siento que no me han logrado ayudar de forma adecuada a solucionar este problema y por eso estoy empezando a pensar en mudarme.

Ahora, el 75% de las visitas a mi sitio son de CR, por lo que pienso que sería una buena opción encontrar un buen proovedor de hosting ubicado aquí mismo, aunque no es un requerimiento.

If you could find an ideal web host what features would it have for you to run Drupal effectively for yourself or your customers?

I'm not talking about the Pantheon type development/drupal only hosts but the more general hosts that provide email etc. as well..

I have been looking around and cant find the "perfect" host, most seem to simply overload their servers, so looking at potentially setting up a service myself.. So thought this would be a good place to get a "wish list" of features..

We are wondering what other people in Florida think is the best hosting facility. We are pretty small now but hope to grow to significant traffic and don't want to have to move. Reliability, speed and knowledgeable Drupal support are important.

First off - Does anyone have recommendations on Unix/Linux/Ubuntu vs. windows environment? Our current hosting environment is windows 2008 server-based - not specifically a drupal host (Intermedia).

I read a recommendation for Greengeeks, Hostgator and Bluehost. Anyone have experience with any of these?

Good to know you all out there. Does anyone know if we have any ISPs that can host Drupal sites locally (as in servers located in Zim)? Be grateful for some pointers.

I am looking for a new hosting option and currently investigating Acquia and Rackspace. Rackspace is much cheaper (actually less than 10% of the cost of Acquia) but Acquia is optimised for Drupal.

All I really need is PHP5.3 with the usual extensions enabled for Drupal, and MySQL of course. I would like the option to run multiple sites/domains on the server, so I can move all my sites from my current shared solution to the new server. drush would be a useful feature to have on the server although not essential.

I am looking to switch my hosting service and would like to ask the group what they are using to host their drupal sites?

I have recently started to work on a project on Drupal 7, however sadly our current hosting partner does not have a share hosting option that can meet the system requirement for Drupal 7. What do you guys use for your Drupal 7 projects? Can anyone recommend 1 or 2 plans that are economical for a small development house?
