It's been too long since our last meetup. We'll be meeting at the usual spot:

Possible topics:

• Case study of your Drupal site
• You've got a problem and want to know how to fix it (we'll need to decide whether a particular problem is a good candidate for a group walkthrough)
• Best Practices - from installation to security to implementation
• How to setup an AMP stack on your home computer
• OpenCalais
• Drupal 7 features
• anything else you might suggest

We'll want to narrow this down to 2-3 in the next few days. Give us your ideas.

I posted a version of this on couchsurfing. I though I might add a pinch of geekiness to the party mix. (with CS found and replaced with Drupal... hehehe)

Yes, I know, traditionally, it's supposed to be spent with family, but for a lot of us who aren't with their families this mid-autumn, why not spend it together?

On the evening of Oct. 3, we will be bringing picnic blankets, finger foods, drinks, wine, beer and chilling it out at the Deep Water Bay on the south side of HK island.

I've just realized that this group existed.

I couldn't make it to Barcamp 2009 yesterday, so I'm wondering when the next HK DUG meeting is going to take place.

Is there a regular schedule and location? I couldn't find it anywhere on the group.

Here's the ideas that we came up with last night but a little more organized:

1. What is Drupal (5mins)
   • A CMS
   • A Framework
   • A community
2. What can you do with Drupal (3mins)
   • Show examples of HKDUG Drupal sites
3. What's new in Drupal
   • Drupal 7 (10mins)
     • Review changelog to see what to highlight.
     • ImageCache in core - eliminating the person that resizes images to 300 x 400px
     • Fields in core - eliminating the web developer
   • Real-time theme configuration - Eliminating the designer (5mins)

Sorry for the late notice again, SOHO still hasn't confirmed but we have to send the message out or else this will have to be pushed back another week.

This meeting will be about sending / receiving SMS with Drupal.

Jay will tackle the subject from a more introductory perspective:

1. How can I use SMS on my Drupal website?
2. How does the SMS framework/ API work with Drupal?
3. What resources are available on the SMS framework?

Continue on last meetup's talk about CiviCRM, this time, Dave will talk more about CiviCRM. Also, Karim will talk about Panels.

I'm trying to learn D6 + Zen theming with a designer friend of mine. We haven't done much yet, just set up D6 with a Zen subtheme folder ready. I guess that's a prerequisite for everyone wanting to join. Other than that, please read up on the theming guide:

Follow up on our conversation at WordCamp, Andy and Ian from the British Council will be coming to the meeting to talk about their site. (Link?)

Last time we had Dave talk about "Dave's list of recommended modules". This time, we have Andy and Ian's list of "Modules to Avoid"! So, come and share your experiences with horrible modules!

This will be a "showcase meetup", everyone should plan on showcasing their own drupal site and talk a little bit about how they did it and troubles they encountered.
