Hi all. I'm new to the Drupal scene. I'm using Drupal for a community website as my master's project in citizen journalism. Does anyone know a good programmer familiar with Drupal in Logan or anywhere in northern Utah? Thanks.

TapocoL@drupal.org - Mon, 2008-05-12 15:20

As discussed in the Saturday meeting, I was going to set up a wiki page for topics. However, I remembered we had set one up before.
http://groups.drupal.org/node/9762

So, just a reminder for all. You can put your name in any given topic, and place new topics on that wiki page.

My two cents. If you are a leader for a topic, then set-up a time for your presentation. I believe if we have a topic and a time set, people will come. But, when we are relying on people to commit to a time for an unknown topic, it seems harder to get people interested.

I'm hoping to get some help from the group on this. My last request was a little off the Drupal Subject, this one should do a little better.

I'm developing a site for an Applied Technology College that have a Jobs section where jobs will be posted and associated with each program. I'd then like each program to display a block with all of the jobs pertaining to that program. Any ideas? I thought this would be something very straight-forward, but it's not as easy as I thought.

Launched my website

Just wanted to let the group know that I launched my personal Drupal site last week. My main focus is to have a blog where I can share experiences with Drupal and anything else having to do with web development. My other focus is to be able to have a place for my clients (the few that I have) to login to submit feature requests or changes that need to be made on their sites. I'm using the case tracker module to track those, and am hoping that it will help keep requests from my clients stay more organized. OK, that's enough talking... here's the site:

Ubercart Alternative

For our last meet-up that we were organizing I put an item on there to discuss a shopping cart alternative for Ubercart. Since then they released their first stable version of the software. It's called Magento, and it is an open source project similar to Drupal (obviously not as big as Drupal yet, though). This came up on my news feed today:

Library booked for March 29th

cachilupi - Fri, 2008-03-14 02:59

So I contacted SLC Public Library about reserving a room for Sat March 29th, and they don't have any openings till late in the afternoon. Apparently if you want to meet there you need to book pretty early. I think our options are:

  • Meet another Saturday, perhaps April 12th, and reserve the library now.
  • Meet somewhere else.

I know Andrew offered the conference room at DATC, up in Kaysville. Are people willing to drive north for that? It's only an hour from Provo. Or do we have any other offers on places to meet for a group of 10-15 people?

Ubercart Attributes Question

Hey guys,

Support Question: How can I expose my drupal calendar (block) on a static html site?

kmillecam's picture

group: Utah
kmillecam - Mon, 2008-02-25 17:47

Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me brainstorming with you but I figured:
1) this has proven to be a collection of bright Drupal heads.
2) i may actually get a response here ... no such luck in the Drupal forums.

Anyway, I'm looking for a way to expose the calendar block (from one site) as a block on a static HTML site.

I'm thinking I might have to write a module that periodically dumps the calendar HTML into a static file that can be included using a server-side include or javascript.

Any one else have a better idea?

Thanks,
Kevin

Talks about a few modules that they are getting ready to release in the next little while. Course Designer being one of them and Assignment Studio is another one. I didn't have a ton of time to look through the site but after watching a few of the screencasts it looks pretty promising.

Check it out...

Some Ideas

I was thinking we could start discussing what we want in our next meeting (March hopefully). A couple ideas that were discussed quite a bit were multisite configuration, SCORM, and probably more that Im just spacing right now. A couple of ideas that I have thought could be helpful as well are Drupal 6, and AJAX in Drupal.

Hey Utah Drupallers,

During Saturday's meetup we all thought it would be nice if everyone would update their profiles (here on groups.drupal.org) so we can network and share opportunities .

So if you haven't already, click the "My account" tab above and let us know a little about ya! While you're at it, upload a pic -- It would be nice to put faces with the names :-)

Thanks all,
Kevin

The only info I found was that it was a SCORM Player build on Flex 3 (Adobe) for Drupal. Anyway, here's the link to check it out:

The Utah Drupal group got together for an introductory meeting on Saturday, February 9. It was a good turnout especially when compared to attempts to meet in years past.

We were all pretty impressed with the amount of Drupal talent in the state. Many of the attendees are making a living managing Drupal sites for companies, educational institutions, and political parties.

Building a site of referral services for a charity/social organization.

I’ll be using Drupal 5.1.
I believe that most everything can be done with the existing modules:
Subscribed, IM_Paypal, Fivestar or Jrating, Advertisment, Classified Ads, Job Search, Survey.

Also think I could get by with one of the available themes.

Site only needs one module complete to go live. Other modules/services will be added after.

Looking for contractor. Not a full time position.
