Utah
Welcome to the Utah Drupal Users Group!
Utah is a state in the western part of the United States with some of the world's best ski slopes. Salt Lake City is the state capital.
This group is intended to teach about Drupal, help with installation and collaborate in customization and development of new functionality (modules, themes and so on). All comments and questions are welcome. Please feel free to join this group.
When should we meet next?
While Provo may be the ideal place to meet for most, who would be willing to occasionally attend a meeting in Salt Lake?
October Meetup?
Hey everyone,
Our last meetup was in August, and since we decided to meet every other month, we are due for a meetup this month. Go ahead and chime in on a possible date and location. Also, any suggestions for topics or presentations are always welcome.
Thanks!

Student Curriculum Website
I've recently been tasked with putting together a Drupal Site that will be used to provide students with steps on what it takes to complete their Technical Training at our College. We're not a traditional College—we are open-entry/open-exit and as such our students don't usually work together on the same things at the same time. The student needs to be able to log-in and gain access to materials exclusive to the classes or program that they are enrolled in. This part is pretty much done without any problems.
36 Sections of Content with Authenticated Access
I'm trying to set-up a site that will allow students that are enrolled in our different College programs (i.e. IT, Media Design, Pharmacy Technician, etc.) to have access to their curriculum (meaning web links, pdfs, docs, xls, etc.) through a web interface. We are open-entry/open-exit so we have students coming and going all of the time. We would like to keep a close eye on the students when the withdraw from the class to make sure that their access is taken away from the content for that class.
Utah Open Source Conference
Hey everyone,
This was mentioned at the meetup, but I wanted to post it here as well. I received a message from Clint Savage at the Utah Open Source Foundation, one the people who run the Utah Open Source Conference. They've given me a promo code for the Utah Open Source Conference 2009 to pass on to everyone. It's good for 50% off the Full Access Pass to the 2009 conference, making it only $35 from the normal registration price of $70.
Meet-Up Tonight: Update Agenda!
As many of you know our August Meet-Up is tonight in Provo, UT on the BYU Campus. We're anticipating about 10+ people there (quite possibly more). We're excited to have a good crowd there and want to provide the best material possible to them. If you have something you want to discuss, or a topic you'd like to learn more about then post it to the Agenda. The Agenda will be used tonight to keep things organized and on task. Don't be afraid to throw your name up there to show off or discuss something that you've recently worked on!
Register for Upcoming Meet-up!
I've created an event for our upcoming meet-up. Go and register so we can get an idea of who is coming!
Drupal Resources
Has anybody got any good resources for Drupal squirrelled away in their favorites folder?
I find that whenever I search for a Drupal topic, I see 4million websites out there with the Drupal API reference - well done, guys. We only need one, and it's at Drupal.org. All they've done is clutter up the results, so actually finding examples of how to use the more obscure regions of Drupal is very tricky. Searching Drupal itself is rarely helpful, as their website is so disorganised; I'm sure I saw an example of something once, but it disappeared before I had a chance to bookmark it!
