For those of you who don't follow drupal.org homepage or the hundreds of drupal-releated Twitter accounts, Drupal 7 was officially released today: http://drupal.org/project/drupal
Congratulations to the hard-working developers, documentation team, beta testers, and everyone in the community who have made Drupal 7 such a leap forward. Can't wait to dig in and start building sites with this puppy.

Greetings MT Drupaliers!
I found that I had to move my site. I went from a MySqli to a MySql database set up.
Everything (I believe) is the same.
The site will not connect (thelightscriber.com ) and shows it offline and that I am facing DB issues.
I did change the settings file in the DB line but that was it. Still a no-go.
I have searched but most threads say to just change the one line in Settings. Did that but still epic fail.Read more
Hi Montana Drupalistas!
IRC is a venerable Internet protocol for real-time text-based communications. Essentially, chatrooms. Ages before Skype, AIM, etc people were using IRC to chat about thousands of topics, and IRC remains very popular today, especially among geeks.
I have created an IRC channel for the use of our local Montana Programmers group, and I think we should use it for Drupal Montana as well. We can help each other with questions/answers, say hi, and alleviate the isolation of working alone for us home-office folks. It's like a virtual water cooler.
If you already know how to use IRC, just join the #mtprogrammers channel on the Freenode network (irc.freenode.net).
If you need help getting started with IRC, I've provided complete instructions here:
If you need any help, just let me know! Hope to see you in the channel…
P.S. The global Drupal community makes heavy use of IRC to stay connected. The Drupal IRC channels are a great way to ask/answer questions, coordinate with Drupal friends in far-flung locales, etc: http://drupal.org/ircRead more
It's a crying shame that Drupal's core code causes double meta printing in the HTML.
I really wanted to use Nodewords to enhance each node's meta keywords and descriptions for SEO. The validity of being able to specify the exact meta info for each specific node would greatly enhance targeted SEO. due to this error I have to hard code a set of tags for each template. Lost is the ability to SEO a node on the fly.Read more

For more information, contact Devon at devon.cox at nonameoutdoors.com. If you'd like a phone number to contact them, please contact me directly, and I'll give it to you. You should be someone I know in the Western MT Drupal Group for me to give you his phone number (for privacy reasons).Read more
We will hold our monthly informal Drupal meetup Tuesday, December 7, 6:30pm at Zootown Brew coffee on Broadway.
This will be a casual, open meetup. Many of us enjoy time for informal learning and networking so that's what we'll have tonight. Got a Drupal problem you're stumped with? Looking for just the right module for your new site? Want to show off something cool? This is the right forum for that!
Hope to see you there!

I am fishing for thoughts on how to create a consistent header on every page of a Drupal 6 site in order to be compliant with the UM Web Standards - similar to what is at the top of the FireCenter page. Would this best be accomplished with a php snipit or 3rd party module? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Our popular Getting Started with Drupal series will be moving to a more formal setting in early 2011. Andy and Scott will be offering a structured beginning Drupal course at The Lifelong Learning Center here in Missoula.Read more
OMG! Do I love the panels module.
I haven't delved deeply into panels and mini-panels just yet but...
I was driving myself crazy coding my front page so I had a two panel gateway into two separate sites. Actually they are all on the same install and really just one site. I wanted two distinct pictures (jpegs) that represented each the site/side they were hyper-linked to and to have the text above centered. No matter how I Div'ed the node in the editor I couldn't get even and centered text nor the hyper-linking pictures satisfactorily positioned.Read more
I desired a module to allow theme switching and special node type assignments. I wanted to have a splash page that led to two different looking sites even though it was one master site.
Drupal core doesn't yet have this feature built in like other CMS's do. ThemeKey to the rescue!Read more

Our friends at Lullabot have just launched drupalize.me, a subscription site with access to the entire Lullabot video library. This includes all the videos in the Lullabot learning series (some of which Lullabot donated in DVD format to our group library) as well as many other hands-on videos from the Do It With Drupal conference. In essence this is Lullabot's Lynda.com-style training video site, just for Drupal (well, and jQuery too!)
Subscriptions are $55/month. Use the coupon code
SUPERDRUPAL for $20 off the first month. That offer expires on November 19th. Considering the price of the DVD's, if you're serious about learning Drupal this is a terrific opportunity.
I'm talking to Lullabot about possible discounts for our group members, and will update you when I know any more details.Read more

I had been struggling to understand all the switches and what the cause and effect is with aspects of some Drupal modules. The two referenced podcasts help sort some of this out. Hope they help you as well.
