The South African Drupal community has an IRC channel, #drupal-za on irc.freenode.net. If you are a local develop come and chat :). If you don't feel like downloading a client you can use the Freenode Webchat (http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=drupal-za). Otherwise you can have a look at the extensive list of IRC clients available: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_Relay_Chat_clients.

With our next BAD Ass Camp fast approaching I thought it might be a good idea for us to have our own IRC channel so I set up #drupal-brighton.

I'm logged into IRC most days so if you're around pop in say lo!

I also set up a new group where I'm posting what I'm up to each day. There's no rules, so random stuff welcome.

Micha und ich (Dirk) haben einen IRC Channel #drupal_mv eingerichtet. Hier ist genug Platz, dass wir Drupaler (nicht nur aus Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) uns auch zwischen den Stammtischen austauschen können.

Ya está registrado el canal IRC para el grupo Uruguay en freenode, el mismo se encuentra listado en http://drupal.org/node/679904 y es accesible desde la web en webchat.freenode.net o con un cliente IRC en irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-uruguay .
Una vez dentro de la web de freenode, es recomendable registrar el nickname, de ser posible el mismo utilizado en drupal.org. Para registrar el nick, una vez logueado a freenode se debe enviar el siguiente mensaje remplazando "password" por la contraseña deseada y "email" por una dirección de mail válida:
