New to Drupal? Come early at 6:30pm if you're new to Drupal and a group member will be available to answer your questions.

Speaker: Scott Vandehey (@spaceninja) via Video Screencast

Topic: HTML5 is ready to use today, and Scott will show us how to use it in your Drupal themes. The focus is on Drupal 7.

RSVP: http://www.meetup.com/surrey-drupal/events/16352378/

During this session, you will learn the answer to these questions:
* What is HTML5?
* What features does it offer me?
* How do I set up my themes to use it?
* How well supported is it?

By the end, you will see that converting your themes to HTML5 can offer you real benefits, and will position you to easily take advantage of new features as they become available. With its focus on graceful degradation, there’s no reason to delay. Learn how HTML5 can help you!

This session is intended for intermediate-level theme developers. You should have a healthy interest in markup, and not be afraid to open a .tpl.php file, but you don’t need to know PHP.

We will be introducing some of the new elements, such as Article, Section, and Video, but not the new APIs like drag-and-drop or geolocation.

Lightning Talks
This month, Roberto will be giving a short talk on the benefits of using Stylizer when theming Drupal.
Attendees are invited to share their experience by giving a 5 minute presentation on any topic of interest to the Drupal community. If you want to use a laptop to show a website or control panel please be sure you have the necessary cable to connect to an overhead projector.

Drupal Q&A
Bring your questions on anything related to Drupal from how to do something technical in PHP to what modules are needed to implement a feature you want.

NOTE: There's no cost for this event, however it would be great if you can come prepared to order something (some of us order dinner, some just drinks) along with a 15% gratuity as we really want to keep up a good relationship with ABC as they've been great in allowing us to book their conference room.
