Hello everyone,
I'm new to Drupal & clearly new to Drupal Groups. =/
I had recently been working on putting together a site with Joomla for web comics, blogs & selling digital comics, but unfortunately couldn't find a solution there and certainly not an affordable/viable one. It seems that no one is interested in developing such a module, as well, and seemingly have little time for it.
Since I was hitting a dead end, I did some searching for web comics and drupal... and came up with this solution (but for 5.x). Obviously, I'd like to stay with newer versions of Drupal, as I'm sure many people do, since the developers are improving upon the cms all the time. However, it seems like this was a lost cause? Why is it that development for this module has ceased production? No time? No incentive?
I'm fairly certain that a module such as this would be in very high demand these days, being that I've been working in the comic industry for over a year and have met quite a lot of people who do utilize web comic software and use web comic hosts. Most creators do use sites like Drunkduck.com, comicspace.com or webcomicnation.com, but a lot do have their comics hosted on cms' like Comicpress for Wordpress.
I would love to take advantage of this module, were it to be in development on a consistent basis and I would love to hear your thoughts on if you guys are willing to begin anew? I'm more than willing to help out in anyway I can, but unfortunately I'm not a developer. I can steer you in the right direction in regards to what creators want/need, and I could certainly give you some design specifications/template ideas and the like.
I'd very much like to be involved with this project if it were to continue onward. Is this a possibility? What do you need to spark some renewed interest?
Let me know.
