We are looking for volunteers to take part in a server environment survey, specifically focused on SQLite support. We are considering making SQLite required or at least prioritized for the Drupal installation process. Before making such a decision we want to get a good feel for the availability of SQLite in hosting environments. If you host sites through multiple providers we would appreciate results from each to ensure we get the most accurate data.

Depending on the success of this survey we may be able to use this process for making future decisions.

To submit results please follow these steps:

  1. Download the Sample module and install it on as many hosts as you see fit
  2. Visit admin/sample
  3. Submit the results

The results will be sent to a central server and can be accessed at http://survey.reviewdriven.com/results.

If you want to get involved or are interested in the details please see the SQLite issue in core (Generate minimal SQLite environment and use to install Drupal in full environment), but we would ask that you refrain from simply posting your opinion on SQLite.
