The Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group is proud to present at least two featured presentations about the hottest Drupal topics each month. We have room for 75 people and all skill levels are welcomed. If you are brand new to Drupal we recommend attending one of our free monthly training workshops.

David Hwang and Ryan Peters will be presenting ....D7 at the Field Museum....We'll cover the Field Museum's migration from flat, one-off Dreamweaver pages to Drupal, some of our internal practices and processes, our technology stack, how we use Drupal in a wide variety of internal and external projects (touchscreens in galleries!), and what we've learned after a year of building and working with Drupal 7.

Kelly Meath will be presenting ....My First Module....going over the basic foundations of custom module development. This will include a look into some of Drupal's common hooks used to create custom modules.

Bryan Zera  will be presenting ....Features Module....one of the main frustrations of developing a Drupal site collaboratively is how to manage the versioning of elements like Views, Taxonomies, content types and any content that's stored inside the database.  Enter the Features module, which allows you to package up settings that are normally held in a database into a module file which can be versioned using your favorite source code management tool.  Bryan Zera will be talking about how Features works, how it's used to develop Drupal sites collaboratively at Mightybytes and what caveats you must watch out for when using Features.

Almost every CDMUG presentation is recorded and now available online @ http://cdmug.org/videos

If you are not able to physically attend, join us virtually in our #cdmug IRC chat room on freenode. Members hang out in the chat room on a daily basis even when meetups are not happening. If you are unfamiliar with IRC view http://drupal.org/irc feel free to utilize our web based chat client @ http://cdmug.org/chat

All meetups will be in traditional CDMUG fashion. No dress code, relaxed attitudes, open ideas, laptop encouraged, remember business cards, and we will probably go for a beer afterward.
