There's a proposal to support head to head upgrades at http://drupal.org/node/1333898 which could use feedback from people developing with 8.x.
This needs feedback, especially from the following people:
- already working on 8.x patches
- would like to get involved in 8.x. patches
- would like to start porting contrib modules before a beta release
- anyone else who wants to start working with 8.x before it hits beta
