Plans for entity property translation storage are being discussed currently at http://drupal.org/node/1498634. This could be a noticeable piece in how you implement your entity modules and also how core handles property translation. While our current proposal leaves the regular entity tables (such as node and node_revisions) untouched, it does introduce two tables for storage of translations for current and historic values respectively. Your feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!
