I recently spent a good amount of time developing a RFP for a small Arts related organization because the group was from my hometown and I personally liked what they stood for. After the proposal went through their decision making process the group decided to go with a different CMS.
One of the things I was told was "It seems you build sites focusing on small businesses and you don't have any examples of Arts related sites." I had no opportunity to explain the possibilities and similarities of different sites. Through this learning process I have decided to create a site which hopefully will not only show my abilities but also explain the concept of Drupal as a framework illustrating how the various pieces can be themed to give different feels and experiences.
This will be a long process but initially the basic framework was built with Aegir and several different distributions. In a matter of hours I had created a conference site, a church site, a commerce site, a site with panopoly, and an intranet site. Aegir is great and with such good distros the possibilities are limitless.
