A clearly-defined mission will help us focus our work and articulate our purpose to others, as well as ourselves. Here's my first crack at a Mission Statement:
The University of Minnesota Drupal User Group works to share knowledge and resources, find solutions to shared challenges, and enable effective use of Drupal at University of Minnesota campuses across Minnesota. Staff, students, and faculty are all welcome here.
We will strive to be a bridge, not a silo, and encourage participation and sharing with others in our communities, be they geographical (Twin Cities at g.d.o) or professional (Higher Education).
One note about my intent: The second paragraph is an expression of my desire to make sure an organized Drupal presence at the U does not make us insular, but rather, helps connect us to the broader Drupal community, especially in the Twin Cities, but also within our industry(ies) and online (e.g. at drupal.org.)
With that in mind, I'll throw this open to discussion.
