I have a D7 site that allows users to sign up as one of two user types - this functionality is provided through Auto Assign Role.
We also use Campaign monitor which has lists dedicated to each of the user roles.
I set up the Campaign Monitor module, but this allowed users to sign up to a list that they should not be able to due to their role. So I knocked up a small custom module that only shows the lists that have been associated with a specific role - there is an CM list admin form alteration that shows all the roles to be associated with a list. This list is used to manage which active list is shown on a user's 'My Newsletters' form.
I also added an automatic submission of the user's details to all the appropriate lists on their first sign up [i.e. their email has been confirmed].
Is this something that has already been done or is it something that is of any interest to anyone else?
