Our February meetup is this Wednesday, February 27th from 7-9PM. We're excited to have our good friend David Needham as a presenter this month. David is a Drupal themer, trainer and Drupal theme developer who has just moved to the Twin Cities from San Francisco -- this week! For his inaugural TCDrupal meetup he has graciously offered to present his Panels for Themers - Creating Highly Flexible Layouts presentation which he conducted at the most recent (and prestigious) BADCamp.
Here's a quick overview from the BADCamp session description:
With the power of Panels, you never have to make a .tpl file ever again! Okay, that's not true at all, but what Panels does give you is the ability you to create Drupal aware layouts that can be reused between dozens of other sites.
This talk is perfect for:
- People who are sick and tired of creating the same sort of .tpls for every site
- People who can't remember which .tpl they need to edit for XYZ
- People who want to create custom Panel layouts
- People who want to make their existing layouts more reusable
David has been an honorary member of the Twin Cities Drupal community due to his generous participation as a trainer and presenter at both of our DrupalCamp Twin Cities events. Join us in welcoming him as a full-fledged member of our local community. We'll enjoy David's great theming-related presentation as well as the usual networking, socializing, beverage imbibing and pizza consumption.
