Do you dig technology and innovation? Are you into food, booze, and economic development? Are you down to party? We thought so. 59DaysOfCode is at it again, hosting its 4th annual software development competition, challenging local developers to build a market-ready web application in only 59 days time. The clock starts at midnight on April 20, 2013, so we thought, “What better way to get this party started than with a party?!?!?” The 59DaysOfCode Kickoff Party is going down on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 9pm to midnight at The Hashtag in Tower District. Admission is open to the public with food provided courtesy of Fresno Technology Affinity Group (FTAG) and a cash bar. 59DaysOfCode is the San Joaquin Valley’s premier software development competition, and it’s gaining national attention. Competitors are given 59 days to create a web application in either of two categories: (1) Zero Code, or (2) In-Progress. Zero Code entries cannot be started until the beginning of the 59 day period, whereas In-Progress entries are allowed to have been started before the 59 day period. The 59 day period concludes with the 59DaysOfCode expo on June 22, 2013, where competitors present their entries, national industry leaders judge the entries, and winners are selected. Winners walk away with a prize package including cash and a boatload of geek supplies. Registration to compete in 59DaysOfCode closes on April 19, 2013. Learn more and register to compete here.
