This will be an advanced level presentation on the use of solr as a backend to views using Search API and Search API Solr and how, when done properly, this combination can allow you to create extremely fast searches and views that scale to tens of thousands of entities even on relatively limited resources.

Ben Holt has over 15 years of web development and system and server administration experience. He is an active member of the Vancouver Open Source / Free Software community, including two years spent as Chair of the Vancouver Linux User Group. He is a Co-Founder of The Jibe, a Drupal development agency situated in Vancouver.
Ben is a patient and keen learner and teacher. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and is able to convey complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.

Attendees are invited to share their experience by giving a 2 to 4 minute presentation on any topic of interest to the Drupal community. If you want to use a laptop to show a website or control panel please be sure you have the necessary cable (vga) to connect to an overhead projector.
