Hello all,
This is my first time on here, so I'm not even sure if this is the correct way to submit a query. Anyway, I installed what was supposed to be an updated version of the phpbb module for drupal from customizations made by Justin Freeman (here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/12949#comment-83937) and everything seemed to go smoothly at first (I followed the instructions given in the install.txt file I have attached - minus disabling 'account activation'). First of all is this the right module and are those install instructions standard for the phpbb module? I also have an existing drupal install, so the assumption of a fresh drupal install in the instructions does not apply in my case - if that is important. But once we get past that, my actual problem is that after I enabled the module in drupal and copied the custom php files from the module's directory over to the appropriate phpbb subdirectories as instructed I now cannot log out of phpbb (I am logged in as the admin - 'phpadmin').
Also, on drupal's side, phpadmin does not appear in the drupal users list - although when I tried to manually create 'phpadmin' in drupal it gave an error saying an entry for that user already existed for that user (but obviously wasn't showing). Something obviously went awry (probably in the database).
Consider me a newbie when it comes to phpbb, and drupal I have just become familiar with in the last 6 months. Am I correct in understanding that the purpose of the module is to tie authentication between drupal and phpbb? If so then why do the instructions (attached) also say to set "Account activation: disable" in phpbb, which I believe would prevent any users from registering? Is it expected that Drupal will manage user registration as well? There are a lot of things (it seems) that go unsaid or are assumed when installing this module, most of which I think I am out of the loop on. Can anyone enlighten me please?
P.S. My Drupal version is 6.14 and PHPBB version is 3.0.6 in case anyone was wondering.
Your help is much appreciated!
