The next alpha for Drupal 8 will be alpha 9! Here is the schedule for the alpha release.

Feb. 16-18, 2014 Only critical and major patches committed
Feb. 19, 2014 Drupal 8.0-alpha9 released. Emergency commits only.
Feb. 20-24, 2014 Disruptive patch window
