The next alpha for Drupal 8 will be alpha 10! Here is the schedule for the alpha release.

Mar. 16-18, 2014 Only critical and major patches committed
Mar. 19, 2014 Drupal 8.0-alpha10 released. Emergency commits only.
Mar. 20-23, 2014 Disruptive patch window (just prior to Drupal Dev Days Szeged)
