Date Repeat Entity & Event Tracking
Simon will be speaking briefly about two modules. The first is Date Repeat Entity, which complements the Date suite of modules, in particular the Date Repeat module. For repeating dates that follow a recurring rule, this module creates a unique entity for each date instance in the series. The second module, still in development, allows users to track availability of attendees at events through a tabular interface.
Simon Shutter is a web developer and project manager based in Delta, BC. He has been working with Drupal with version 6. Simon has contributed to several Drupal modules such as Organic Groups and the Message stack. He has written more than 100 handbook pages on Drupal.org and is active in the local Vancouver Drupal community. He is also an Acquia Certified Developer.
Load Balancing Drupal with HAProxy
Mike is going to cover load balancing Drupal with HAProxy. In 15 minutes, he'll swiftly take us through planning, installation, configuration, and some basic functions and scenarios in load balancing Drupal with the powerful and speedy HAProxy load balancer. Additionally, Mike will cover some Drupal-specific concerns to be aware of in load balanced environments.
Mike Toscano is principal and lead systems engineer/architect at managed hosting firm, IONICA. He helps Corus Entertainment, Adacado, the BC Government, Blast Radius and others solve their toughest web and application infrastructure problems in stability, security, scaling and performance.

Lightning Talks
Attendees are invited to share their experience by giving a 2 to 4 minute presentation on any topic of interest to the Drupal community. If you want to use a laptop to show a website or control panel please be sure you have the necessary cable (vga) to connect to an overhead projector.
