Well I got moved into my new place and finally got the internet last thursday. I have been cranking away at my SoC project. Although I only missed a few days I tried to get ahead in advance before I left for my move. I have since completely read the "pro drupal development" book as well as started reading a PHP book. I plan to re-read the pro drupal development book because I think it will give me a much better read the 2nd time and I will pick up on things I didn't the first. I also had to spend some time setting up my laptop because it's kind of old and needs to run linux with the fluxbox desktop so it took a little while to setup and get a web server going for development. Today I have finished the case study (http://xamox.net/drupal/case+study) which is an evaluation of various project manager software out there. I plan to take the case study and write up a design document based off of that and suggestions by users listed here on my site (http://xamox.net/drupal/suggestions). The design document will include a flow chart as well as a mock UI and design details about the project. I will then get feedback from the various people interested in this project as well as from Dries because he wanted to give some input on the UI design & workflow. Once I get the feedback I will start discussing database schema with my mentors and start working on the module. I have also created a time log(http://xamox.net/drupal/time-log) for my project which I plan to update everyday so I can track total man hours spent on the project. I also plan to start learning some Postgres because I am pretty familiar with MySQL but have never used Postgres and I know the syntax is different. I plan to finish up the design document in a few days so hopefulley I will get a skeleton module working by sometime next week.
