Position Overview:
The Web Developer is a member of the CLA Office of Institutional Advancement content team, with responsibility for web development/programming and serving as technical lead for the unit. This person creates, implements, maintains, and continuously improves upon our web technical infrastructure and content management system. Over the next two years the web developer will play a key role in the migration of more than 40 websites of CLA departments, programs and centers to a Drupal platform that was designed last year.

This position works within a team that includes a graphic designer/photographer, web editor, social media manager, and other communications professionals.

The Web Developer supports the mission of the College of Liberal Arts by creating and maintaining web sites and web solutions that allow our students to successfully navigate the information they need to be successful in college; showcase the college to future students, helping them to see themselves in CLA; and maintain meaningful communications with alumni and friends of the college who support CLA financially and through their advocacy.

Responsibilities:
Web Production, Development and Maintenance (80%)
• build and code Drupal websites using responsive templates, according to specified requirements
• maintain and troubleshoot existing websites (HTML, PHP, Drupal)
• manage coding standards
• validate code, browser-test websites; ensure sites meet University accessibility requirements
• design, implement, and make recommendations with regards to the IA, UI, UX, and QA of websites
• maintain and manage University/CLA branding standards, behaviors/features
• create/maintain dynamic site features Supervision, Training and Connecting (20%)
• hire, supervise, and train student web team members
• undertake professional development activities to maintain a high level of expertise in changing technologies
• stay current on University of Minnesota policies and guidelines
• liaise to CLA programmers and system administrators
• represent CLA among the web developer community on campus
