We will be learning about how dependency injection works in Drupal 8, and how to create and use our own services in the Service Container. We'll build a small module that provides a service and uses it to create a page in Drupal. In the process we'll look at PSR-4 namespaces, and extending core Drupal classes. Doug was heavily indebted to Drupalize.Me, whose tutorials on these subjects were responsible for many 'Aha!' moments while he was learning Drupal 8.

About The Presenter: Douglas Gough

Douglas is an experienced Drupal developer and architect, having developed his first large-scale site on Drupal 5, way back in the day. With a career that spans music, robotics, systems administration, dev-ops, and of course web development, Doug is suited to projects that require multiple talents and deep experience. Currently, he is sharing his experience with aspiring web developers by working as an instructor at RED Academy.
