This month's presentation will outline the presenter's recent experiences in using Behat, Mink, and the Behat Drupal extension for functional website testing, including why they choose it and their experiences to date. The experience is primarily with a Behat 3 and a Drupal 7 environment, with an eye towards an easy Drupal 8 transition.
The focus of the presentation will outline the process of writing custom tests in Behat, and the challenges they've encountered with the choice of Behat 3. The talk presumes some experience with testing in general, as well as a fair degree of PHP familiarity and basic understanding of OOP (Object Oriented Programming). There will be a period of question and answers during the presentation.
This talk is a case study, in that the answers it may proffer aren't necessarily applicable to broader implementations.
About the Presenter
Aron has been a web developer for 10+ years, with Drupal 7 comprising the last four or so. Most of his professional career has been with the national network of libraries of medicine in a developer role. More recently, Aron has joined Eelzee, a long established but recently incorporated startup that has him in pursuit of best-of-breed practices and procedures.
