- When
- Meetings are on Thursday mornings, usually the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of each month, from 10 AM to noon
- Specific dates of meetings are posted on our Discord server's "Meeting Links and Notes" channel (see Where section below)
- Where
- We are currently meeting online, using our group's Discord server. If you joined the server for a previous meeting, you're already set up!
If you didn't already join... Discord is an online text chat platform, which also supports voice/video meetings. You can join our Discord server any time. To get an invitation, get in touch with Jennifer (jhodgdon), or post a comment on this page.
You can either join Discord in the browser, or using an app you can download. I recommend getting one of the desktop computer applications and getting it set up ahead of the meeting, as they tend to work a bit better than the in-browser version (at least for me). You can also join by phone/tablet with an app, but you might be able to see screen shares better on a larger monitor.
- What
- At the meetings we spend up to two hours in a question and answer format, with the participants in Discord, where they can share their screens, talk, etc. Most participants do not turn on video on for the meeting. Come with questions about a project you're working on, something you've learned that you'd like to share with others, a desire to improve Drupal or other open-source web software in some way (documentation, programming, design, marketing etc.), or a desire to help others with their projects and questions. Or just come and listen and observe.
- You can also use the Discord server to post questions and discussions between meetings, in the "Text Chat" channel.
- Who
- Everyone is welcome -- the only prerequisite is having some interest in Drupal or other web technology. This group is usually 5-10 friendly people, with experience levels ranging from novice to expert, so you'll fit right in. Because of the size of the group, you will have time to share something you've learned, or get your questions answered, or both!
