This document is meant to lay out the general responsibilities and guidelines regarding the chair of the Sacramento Drupal User Group. The information was originally compiled by Caleb Gilbert and Shawn DeArmond, but will likely be fine-tuned as the process evolves. This document will also list the past and future chairs as they come and go.

The SacDUG has recently moved to a 3-month rotating chair. Every three months, a new chair will take over for the group, and the previous chairs will become an informal advisory committee, which will continue to provide guidance to the new chair and to the group at large.

Responsibilities of the SacDUG chair during the months in office:

  1. Show up and facilitate each meeting. Keep track of the time, and keep the meeting on schedule.
  2. For each meeting schedule one or more of the following: a presenter, an in-depth topic of discussion (including a moderator and agenda), and/or some other relevant plan.
    • Every effort should be made to find at least one presenter for each meeting, as well as finding the presenter early so that it can be advertised and so the presenter has adequate time to prepare a good presentation.
  3. Post the meeting as an event on groups.drupal.org no less than 2 weeks before the next meeting.
  4. Maintain the information on the SacDUG g.d.o main group page, and update the meeting schedule to reflect new topics.
  5. Encourage participation from SacDUG members in the form of presentations, lightning talks, module crushes, Q&A.
