Wow, I'm really stoked - an art and music group! Rockin!
I work at CivicActions (recruiter, management team, resource advocate, scheduler) and just joined a bunch of groups that I'm interested in and that have to do with the kinds of gigs we're offering at CA (plug: http://www.civicactions.com/jobs)
I'm also (and primarily) a lifelong musician [1] and a few years ago started writing songs and singing. Up 'til 2004, I was all about improvised piano, stuck in a writer's block that kept me from getting more than a phrase of a song finished. I had a gi-normous breakthrough on New Year's eve 2004 and started writing a TON of songs, mostly dealing with social and political themes. I'm a bleeding heart with a relentless sense of urgency to make a difference in the world. Fortunately, my day job supports that need as well as supporting my music.
One of the things I'm most passionate about is the intersection of music, technology and social change. I've been experimenting with viral media and have had a fair amount of out-the-gate success getting my first recording heard by a million people via the flash music video [2]. I've been playing in the entertainment/technology space for a decade and did some pioneering work in webcasting at Apple's Interactive Music group back in the day.
I'm working on a new project [3] that I'm REALLY excited about - a truly unique (imo) application of Drupal, music, and making a difference.
In addition to generic content management, i'm also really interested in seeing how Drupal can handle digital distribution. A big stump in my field of late is ringtone sales. Seems it oughta be relatively straightforward for someone to give me $1.99 and for me to drop a ringtone in their phone. Plenty of services willing to do that for 70%, but F that.
Sorry to be scattered - I'm playing hookie from my job and wanted to introduce myself here 'cause I was so excited to see Art & Music a la Drupal.
