The File Existing module provides an interface that allows user's with appropriate permissions to add files that already exist on the server to be added to the Drupal Files table manually.

A typical use case would be:
You have a few gigabytes worth of videos you need to attach to nodes so you FTP them to the server. You install filefield_sources so you can reference existing files off of the server, but since those FTPd video files are not in the Drupal File table you are unable to reference them. This module allows you to simply add existing files on the server to the Files table for use in these circumstances.

Usage:
After enabling the module you goto Admin->Content Management->Files Table:Add Exisiting File(s) and select either a single file or directory.

Pick it up here and enjoy!
