Only about 1.5% of the people involved in open source are women, leaving us terribly underrepresented. In the Drupal world, we're up to a whopping 7% 10% 17%, which only gets us to awfully unrepresented. ;) This group is for anyone (male, female, or otherwise) who believes that we can do better and wants to help.
So if you:
- are a woman who needs some help/guidance in order to get (more) involved with Drupal and the Drupal community
- are a woman who wants to network and get to know other women involved in Drupal
- are anyone who has ideas on things we can do to help encourage women to participate in Drupal
...then this is the group for you. :)
DrupalCon Denver DrupalChix BoF
This is a dedicated all-DrupalChix place and time to talk about issues that matter to us. We will be in BoF Room 502.
This is our meeting. It's a great opportunity to get to know other DrupalChix in the community at large, and discuss ways to support each other, whether it's about career issues, how to get our voices heard, grow the DrupalChix community, etc.
Let's see where the discussion goes and make great use of our hour together.
PS: If anyone has a good SLR they want to bring to get a group picture, that would be very welcome.

Read more18% at DrupalCon Denver? Let's get that number higher
Hi DrupalChix!
I'm Lizz Trudeau and I help the Drupal Association with memberships and data analysis. I wanted to see the % of women attending DrupalCon, but not all women have updated their d.org profiles. Based on just tshirt sales. it looks like at least 18% of attendees are women. However, not everyone is going to order a women's shirt if they prefer a men's tshirt cut.

Hello Drupalchix,
I wanted to start a discussion about scheduling a Drupalchix BoF at drupalcon. I personally think the drupalchix BoF's are very important, and another great opportunity to meet other drupalchix.
Is there a time that works best for everyone? I am going to try and look through the schedule and see if we can find a room we can "take over" for a session, and a time where no drupalchix are presenting (or the least amount). If you know of a time that sounds great, please let me know.

Time Budget Proposal Review
Hello, ladies.
I give way too much time away; trying to give better (truer) estimates. Would appreciate any and all who might give this proposal (time estimates only) a quick glance. Seem about right? I think that it is conservative -- best case scenario. (This project has likelihood of serious scope creep!)
Feedback appreciated. Thank you!

Really? Only one woman featured among speakers on the front page for DrupalCon Denver?
Go Angie for being the one, but where is everyone else? Mitchell Baker is the keynoter and the only other female featured speaker listed on the site.
Maybe it's just me, but this is one of the things I look at when determining if I'm going to hustle and lobby to get to go to a conference. I don't want to be the only woman there and more importantly I want to hear from a wide variety of leaders in the community.
