Scorecard for DrupalCon Europe Location
This document was approved by the European Regional DrupalCon Organizers after a discussion and vote on September 24, 2009.
The Location Selection Taskforce will use these criteria to evaluate locations, teams, and venues. Each item will be given 1 to 3 points. In addition, the events organizing firm hired by the Drupal Association will evaluate locations and venues with their own criteria geared at production issues, and return a ranked list of preferred venues. Finally, a preference poll open to anyone in the Drupal community will be run, and this too will generate a numeric score that will influence the recommendation to the BoD.

Drupal process meetup Amsterdam
January 27-28-29 I'm organizing a follow up of the Drupal CXO days in Amsterdam. The event will again be sponsored by Microsoft (special thanks go to Michaela Kraft who organized the venue and the budget for the meetup).
This meetup aims to facilitate peer-to-peer learning about business processes between leadership of Drupal shops. What are the best practices? What kind of processes do you need? How do you grow from a entrepreneur centered culture to a process driven culture?
Drupal products summit
I'm considering organizing a Drupal products summit some time this fall. The main purpose of the meeting would be to create a knowledge sharing platform for Drupal shops/individuals that are working on a product: anything built with Drupal that has a repeatable business model (can be specialized services for Drupal shops, distributions, applications, websites built with Drupal that target a certain market segment).
The main practical outcomes I hope to achieve with this meeting are:
- The creation of a workgroup that will build an ethical Drupal Application Store
- Increase of knowledge about lean startup methodologies in the Drupal community
- Strengthening the network of Drupal product companies and the creation of a mutual support community
Online PR person (Drupal Blogger outreach) - DrupalCon London 2011
The DC London Marketing Team needs to urgently recruit an Online PR person to help write press releases and distribute useful information and news about DC London to the Drupal blogging community and other interested stakeholders. The role will involve building a mailing list of Drupal bloggers, plan communications campaigns, write interesting press releases, and distribute information and goodies to bloggers. Also, importantly, get feedback from the blogger community and listen to their ideas and respond to requests for info where required.

DrupalCon 2011
Hi Everybody,
First up, we, the European DrupalCon Selection Taskforce, apologize for the delay and lack of communication.
Consider this account of what has happened and what we discussed about, an attempt to improve the process, that we have started for the very first time.
Drupalcon 2010 in Copenhagen

If you wonder what kind of greatness is waiting for you, check out their proposal at http://drupalcon.dk/cph/node/35 or http://drupalcon.dk/cph/node/35?print&book_recurse
Congratulations to the Danish team!
EDIT: The dates are 23 - 26 August, with events on the day before and day after likely.
The Selection Taskforce DrupalCon 2010 Recommendation
Hello Drupal Community and DrupalCon Teams!
It has taken longer than originally expected, but finally after long and careful deliberation, we, the selection taskforce committee, recommend Copenhagen for the DrupalCon 2010. The commitment and relentless enthusiasm of the Danish team during the evaluation process gave us also full confidence that they are ready to organize a DrupalCon that rocks in the 9 months that is left.
Transparency ?
There were a lot of talk of transparency when this whole drupalcon 2010 + 2011 started
i for one is missing this now
We are at least a month over the deadline - and very little have been told out to the public from the european group.
I know im not the only one who really hope to just hear something. - yup the danes & ze germans did meet in stockholm this weekend, and without any fighting breaking out ;)
To be dead honest - we need to hear something soon - else its gotta be pretty hard to get everything done in good time for 2010.
So could we:
Berlin Q & A IRC meeting
The DrupalCon Germany IRC Q&A will take place October 13th at 20:00 CET (7 p.m. UK, 2 p.m. US Eastern) in Freenode #drupalcon channel.
Have a look at our proposal and proposal page (some good questions came in since we posted) here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/28210
We're looking forward to answering your questions!
Revised Schedule for DrupalCon city announcement
The Scandinavian team introduced a new element, and we realized that the IRC meetings are actually very valuable.
We would like to have all three teams up for a meeting (the London team is following tonight), to complement our scoring.
The Germans are missing, as of now; when could you do an IRC meeting?
Because of these IRC meetings, we have been pushing our internal meeting date as well, so everyone has a chance, of communicating with us, before we make our recommendation to the DA.
DrupalCon London 2011 Proposal IRC Q&A
If you're interested in a London DrupalCon please join us on IRC #drupalcon for a two hour Q&A session starting 9 p.m. (GMT) on Friday 9th October.
Hats of to the Copenhagen team who did a similar Q&A session this week which you can read here:
http://drupalcon.dk/planning/node/115
We'll also post the log of our session here as a comment.
