Formerly known as Calcutta, Kolkata is India's second largest city and is located in eastern India. To keep up with the rapidly growing Kolkata (and near Kolkata) community of Drupal users, designers, and developers we have started this group based in Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata. There is going to be a Drupal meetup on Sunday, the 8th of April @ SICSR with Mr. Jacob Singh, from Acquia.
Mr.Jacob Singh is the learning director at Acquia and he is coming to India to promote Drupal.

One of the main problems faced by Drupal Developers today is that modules customized for a particular application cannot be updated to newer versions without loss of customizations. When updates to such modules are released for a newer version, the developer has to rewrite the customization from scratch in the new version.

Got as far as running a query grabbing a bunch of nids and passing them to a view, thought I was doing well! However you guessed it, the sort order is wrong, here's my pseudo code:
//query to grab the nids
if (!empty($nodeids)) {
$view='taxo_listing';
foreach ($nodeids as $nid){
print views_embed_view($view, block_1, $nid);
}
What I need to do is pre-build the view then run views_query_alter to sort the view before printing out the view.

Need small urgent help with Biblio module in Drupal
Hi all,
I am from Atlanta, need a small help on Biblio module in drupal. I have added new publication entry (alongside the typical fields like title, author, year filled up) with note/custom1/research note field filled up. But the note/custom1/research note fields are not showing up in the biblio list or view. I'll really appreciate any suggestion.

Hello Kolkata Drupalers,
Drupal Camp Mumbai is coming up in the 2nd week of November 2011 and we, Innoraft team, are going to participate in the same. Dries is visiting India and I'm sure everyone is excited about that equally :-)
Dries is visiting Delhi (north), Mumbai (west) and Hyderabad (south) but there are no plans for Kolkata or anywhere in the East region. We should start some active participation and do something that we get known for Drupal work too.
And I really look forward to many of us taking part in one of the Drupal camps happening in India.

DrupalCamp in Kolkata, are you ready?
Hey guys,
From what it seems, we are the most inactive groups amongst all geographic locations :-) I'm not sure but I dont know how many people use Drupal in Kolkata for their web development. Drupal developers have been hard to find in Kolkata which gives all of us the edge to pioneer the community. Lets start by meeting somewhere in Kolakta and then if things go well and we see interest among each other, I could take up the lead to bring in DrupalCamp here.
