List of Drupal websites working for Good (introduce yourself and your site).
Hello,
First of all, many thanks to Jason for creating this group.
I am Augustin.
There are many definitions of what is "Good", and I won't attempt to give one: we all have our own understanding of what needs to be done to create a better tomorrow.
To get the Drupal for Good group started, it would be a good idea to list the variety of Drupal sites working for Good.
Also, new people joining the group can use this thread to introduce themselves and their site for Good.
I'll start with two Drupal sites who are not registered charities, but whose purpose is definitely to create a better tomorrow for ourselves and our world.
www.reuniting.info: Healing with Sexual Relationships
This website highlights the intriguing parallels between (1) modern neuroscience discoveries lovemaking and (2) sacred sexuality traditions that emphasize the importance of using sex to achieve inner balance. Every major religion and many other traditions, both secular and spiritual, as well as scientific research, contain clues about the wisdom of learning to manage sex carefully to achieve greater wellbeing, relationship harmony and even heightened spiritual awareness.
www.wechange.org: changing the world and ourselves
There is one thing that is certain in this world: our society needs to change.
www.wechange.org is about promoting and enabling this change, one human being at a time: changing ourselves and changing the way we relate to the world for our own benefit and for the benefit of the whole humanity.
Individually, there is a lot that we can do. Together, we can achieve much more.
So, please, go ahead and introduce your site in this thread. We can discuss in other threads how websites working in similar areas can cooperate for better result.
Personally, I am very interested in cooperation among like minded web sites, so I am looking forward to discussing this topic in other threads with the creators and owners of the sites listed below.
Blessings to all!

I agree with Augustin,
There are limitless ways to do good. I am most familiar with food/agriculture on the local level, and many of my sites reflect that.
http://wataugacountyfarmersmarket.org/ extends the local farmers' market and is a big help in not only promotion and awareness, but also in finding farmers and getting them involved. It is by far my most successful website.
http://leolastreetgarden.org/ is a newer site. It started as a base of operations during the planning stage of the community garden, and is now not only seeking a facelift but also some photos and testimonials detailing the coolness of a community garden.
http://brwia.org/ is intended to support the work of a group of women farmers and their work toward educating and promoting women farmers.
I have more, and also plans for sites to connect individual farmers to their customer, among other things.
It would be wonderful to interact on a more global scale, but the focus here is to get local people eating locally. I may have found my niche.
postcarbon.org and relocalize.net
Hi Everyone
I just spotted this group, and and glad to be here.
I am the technology manager for a non-profit called the Post Carbon Institute. The mission of Post Carbon Institute is to explore in theory and practice what cultures, civilisation, governance & economies might look like without the use of (non-renewable) hydrocarbons as energy and chemical feedstocks.
We use drupal for all our sites, run Organic Groups for our relocalization network site and are constantly building more services into our sites. The major challenge we are dealing with this week, is getting og2list working right, so that each group we create in our sites can have a listserv.
Check out our sites
http://www.postcarbon.org - the main site
http://www.relocalize.net - groups relocalizing their economies
http://www.energyfarms.net - decentralized urban agriculture and power production
We will also be converting our mail media site http://www.globalpublicmedia.com to drupal in the coming month.
If there are any drupal developers in this group looking for work, drop me a line, I need some help with these projects going forward.

Queensland Shelter
Hi,
I am relatively new to Drupal and after many years of writing my own shonky Content Management System(s) have switched my clients over to Drupal. Now life is much easier and yet harder! I used to know exactly how my code worked but now I am digging into the Drupal code to see what is under the bonnet.
It's great to share the load with the community, looking forward to contributing...

drupal climate action
Mackh, I spotted the post carbon institute a few days ago, it's awesome!
I am, along with a friend, running a number of activism sites, and a number of them are based on drupal, cause it's so damn easy. here are a couple
http://www.risingtide.org.au (my local grassroots action group)
http://www.climateaction.org.au (another local group, more mainstream)
http://www.anvilhill.org.au (one of our campaigns)
http://www.hcec.org.au (our environment centre, linked to rising tide)
I'm also tech for http://www.climateimc.org (a lot of indymedia centres are going drupal - http://sydney.indymedia.org.au is, and a bunch or others)
we're also starting up an environmental tech collective, and most of our sites will be drupal, even the static ones ( http://loader.take-action.org.au is an example). we're hoping to fund it with a co-op type commercial setup, which will also be designing and maintaining websites for capos. steal from the rich, give to the poor, like :).

Hey All
Hey All, I'm a print designer by training (BA, '93), and hopped on the HTML bandwagon back around '97. This, in one form our another, has been my vocation since. I've spent the last few months figuring out Drupal's basics and am really impressed with just what it can do as well as support the forums have already provided. I'm hoping to build many Drupal sites for churches and other non profits. -NP

VK Portal
Hey Guys,
I'm pretty new to the whole concept of CMS, although I've been a PHP developer for yonks!
Anyway, My site is a complete web portal for all the residents in my apartment block - Vista Komanwel Bukit Jalil (Malaysia)
It's got a classified page which is really a taxonomy driven page, forums, notices and the usual.
I'll be Trying to beef it up, so I'm actually looking for more and better Drupal Modules.
And I'm hoping to Contribute some back to Drupal Too.
Cheers!
