but I have an aditional question reguarding the virtual sites module.
what if I wanted to have the following:
www.domain1.com
site1.domain1.com
site2.domain1.com
site3.domain1.com
www.domain2.com
site4.domain2.com
site5.domain2.com
site6.domain2.com
so, is this something that virtual domains can handle?
is there a better way to do this?

Don't know anything about virtual sites module
But it seems to be targeted at non-developers that don't have full control over their server. Running many sites off the core codebase is supported by core directly.
