Hi Alex,

Nobody else, so far. So we'll have to stick to Spanglish!

I do!

Andorkan - Sat, 2008-08-02 19:51

Hi Alex,
I do speak English, although I'm not in Madrid right now, nor know much about drupal.

take care

Andrés

I know a bit about Drupal,

a_c_m@drupal.org - Sat, 2008-08-02 22:42

I know a bit about Drupal, but my Spanglish is very limited. I would be interested in meeting up fellow Madrid Drupalers, but my Spanglish is so bad i fear i wont understand/be understood by anyone :)

@Andy - you live in Madrid?

@Andres - when are you coming back ?

Almost in Madrid

Alex, I live about 50km outside of the city at the moment, probably moving closer (to Arganda del Rey) in the near future. I guess since the Spanish Drupalers have to deal with English all the time elsewhere, this Group was meant to be a safe sanctuary, so now we've gone and spoiled it :)

Hi Andrés! Actually my Spanish is pretty good, just nowhere near as good as my English. I'm from London (well, Berkshire) but I've been in Spain for nearly 11 years, now I sometimes speak Spanglish (i.e. mixing the two languages) by accident. It's un poco strange :)

in Canada

Hi guys,

I´m originally from Uruguay (therefore a native spanish speaker) but I´m working at an organisation in Geneva. I have some friends close to Madrid (Collado Mediano) and visited them about a month ago.

I got to know drupal through a website we have developed for my organisation (ga.wscfglobal.org).

Are you going to Drupalcon in Hungary?

Can't go :(

I'd love to go, but as I'm freelance the costs would have to be paid out of my own pocket, so, not this year.

Cool, Uruguayan and British so far -- Alex, are you from the UK, USA or somewhere else? Wonder if they're are any more Spanglish Drupal people hiding in the woodwork.

I'm from the UK,

a_c_m@drupal.org - Sun, 2008-08-03 06:23

I'm from the UK, London/Bucks - but have now lived in Madrid for over a year. Unfortunately i too cant make it to Drupalcon due to a diary clash, but i hope to make it to one soon!

London/Bucks or London/Berks :)

I usually see I'm from London when they ask me here, it's easier than trying to explain the details :) Well it's true anyway as I was born in London.

So Alex, are you working here, studying, retiring or something else? I'm pretty much permanent now, been in Spain near on eleven years. I'm a kind of freelance jack of all trades :) -- I've been in IT forever, when I left university MS-DOS was just changing from V1 to V2. I have some software/web work over the net and some local stuff here. A year or so ago I decided to focus on Drupal and kind of wondering about whether to set up a company here to do that but will probably operate as a "virtual" UK company as it makes a lot of things easier.

Feel free to private msg me if you need help with your Spanglish etc.

I live here and work in

a_c_m@drupal.org - Sun, 2008-08-03 13:50

I live here and work in Spain. I moved here to be with my Spanish girlfriend. I was born'n'raised in bucks, Beaconsfield to be exact.

Now i work from home, doing web based development for UK and US clients. I too went thought the pain of deciding if i should set up a ES company/autonomo or operate out of the UK as a LTD, in the end i worked out was marginally better (and more legal) to operate as an autonomo here in Spain. Be happy to chat to you about it :)

Definitely should talk/meet!

Ah Spanish gf, a good reason to come to Spain.

Thanks for the Skype link... strangely you seem you have triggered a weird Skype bug! (OS X version) as you're now right at the top of my contacts list, but unlike all other contacts in the list, when I click on your name, the Window goes blank for for or 5 seconds, then the lower half of the window reappears with the top half blank, and/or Skype crashes. All other contacts seem to work normally. Strange. Haven't tried Linux or Windows versions, will probably be ok. Tried to msg you on there earlier but couldn't for this reason.

Would definitely like to talk, maybe meet up for exchange of ideas etc. When I talked about setting up a company here, I was referring to a "real" company targeting local clients as opposed to over the web. My Spanish is good enough, just about.

I'll try and get you on Skype some time soon, if I can find a work-around - the Mac is the only machine I have audio on.

I'm on IRC #drupal pretty

a_c_m@drupal.org - Mon, 2008-08-04 06:45

I'm on IRC #drupal pretty much 24/7 (username:a_c_m) if you use that.

Wow, another child like me

Very quiet
