Crossfit at Drupalcon Chicago

Hey Fit Drupalers,

While in Chicago, some of us will be checking out the crossfit gyms in the area. Any of you current crossfitters who'd like to join?

I was waiting to become a CrossFitter until after the conference, but maybe I'll boost my entry-time to asap. If only I wasn't so busy :S

i wish someone would lead some yoga for geeks at the con! that was the BEST. i think there's a gym in the tower... maybe we should do a group workout, i am lame for self-motivating!

Yeah, we had that as a late request at SandCamp 2011. We'll be arranging some yoga (or other physical activities) for next year's camp.

For me, I've only got to cover Wednesday.

I've been looking for a crossfit box near the sheraton.
Atlas crossfit looks to be the only "close" option, http://goo.gl/maps/sHzJ

I contacted them and the drop-in rate is $20. So I went ahead and signed up online for their
7:00 - 8:00 AM Level 2 class on Wed.

Bulldog Crossfit/Bootcamp

Hi, my crossfit gym is in Oak Park (the first suburb west of Chicago, home to Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio, on the Green El line) and they also run outdoor bootcamps every morning in Grant Park (just across the river from the hotel) and Lincoln Park (a bit further north).

ETA: I talked to Greg and he says to make sure you all know the bootcamps are a little different from crossfit. He said the drop in fee would be $15 but call first and say you're attending DrupalCon. Then he started asking a bunch of questions about the difference between Drupal, Wordpress, and Joomla, so I will have to get back to him on that now. :)

I've never done the bootcamps, but they look really fun and crazy. They are out there every day, in every weather (they only cancel if it's below zero; they also canceled during the recent blizzard and people beefed about it).
