we can cover the 2nd part of this with "Tuning Drupal for SEO"
Andy, you posted this right before I had a chance to suggest a complimentary topic that Phase2 would like to give "Tuning Drupal for SEO"
We will address the other side of the analytics discussion by presenting ways to make Drupal more search engine friendly and optimized.
How long will your presentation take? We can cover about 45 minutes I think.

Google and SEO
Andy/Jeff -
I do not have a presentation planned, but have worked extensively with Analytics with and without Drupal. I'm looking forward to the presentations and will be happy to share my experience with Analytics and SEO.
See you next week!
Mark.

Mark:
The GA portion of the presentation is 10 slides, so it will only be 10 - 15 minutes. Jeff is going to spend 30 minutes on SEO. Can you do 10-15 minutes on a survey of the current analytics landscape e.g. GA, Omniture, Visual Sciences, WebTrends, and the pros and cons of each? Log file vs. javascript, reasonably proced vs. it costs what!, etc, etc?

Analytics
Andy -
I can put something together on that topic. I have the most hands-on experience with GA, but have spent more than enough time with Overture and WebTrends as well.
Most of my insights will come from more of a marketing/tracking angle. If you think that will be helpful, I'm very happy to add to the discussion.
Thanks for the note.
Best -
Mark.
Hi Guys-
I am an Google Authorized Analytics Consultant (formerly with Viget Labs now with Animals.com) and would love to speak on getting maximum value out of Google Analytics, including profile management, custom implementation, limitations, and reporting reporting in Google Analytics.
If any of you have questions or any topic related to Google Analytics that you would like covered I am happy to cover them.
We've added another speaker,
We've added another speaker, and from 8PM - 9PM there will be a happy hour sponsered by NewHelix (http://www.newhelix.com/).
Tell your friends / co-workers that are interested in Drupal and/or web analytics, and I look forward to seeing you at the event!

taped session?
Greetings, I am in town but will fly back out to Beijing this weekend.
Is there any way that the session can be taped? I can get up early and join the session via Skype or something like that, but I have a large group of Chinese students who will begin the ChinaOpen code-camp, who would benefit greatly from this session.
I can have Doug arrange someone to tape it, or use his Mac, but I wanted to see if this is legally possible and stuff ...
Taping
John:
I am certainly happy to have the session taped - I supposed if a presenter does not want to be recorded they can say something to Doug. Since most of this will be PowerPoints and demos via an LCD projector, we may also be able to run a screen capture package and record the audio - it's been awhile but I assume something like Camtasia would get the job done. What do you think would work better for your students? Video from a camcorder, or screen capture with audio?

both?
Can we have both? :-)
(you expected this answer, right?)
More presentations and happy hour added!
We're up to four presentations - the topics are a) implementing Google Analytics, b) a survey of web analytics tools, c) SEO & Drupal, and d) getting the most from Google Analytics. The presentations will run from 6PM EDT to roughly 7:15PM EDT. We'll do a biobreak at 7:15PM EDT, and then Q&A from 7:30PM EDT to 8PM EDT. From 8PM EDT - 9 PM EDT will be a happy hour sponsered by NewHelix (http://www.newhelix.com/) .
Most of this content is not Drupal specific, so if you have co-workers and/or friends that are interested in web analytics - this should be a great event!

Time needs to change from AM to PM
Andy, looks like the meeting time is for 6-8am (at least according to the event feed I've added to my Google Calendar). I think that'd be too early for most of us ;-)

Presentations
Hi gang. Andy is in an all-day management meeting and will have to miss the first portion of tonight's event. I'll be filling in for him and setting up my laptop and projector for the presentations. If you are able to present this evening and have a slide deck you want shown I would like to suggest that you bring it on a thumb drive.
Thanks! See everyone tonight.
Marc....
Thank you for the great turnout and conversation
Thank you everyone for the turnout and Q&A. Tonight I felt like we were really starting to get a good sized and healthy group discussion going. As Marc said, some group planning should go into the next event so it can be just as successful and robust, but less Phase2/Worthpoint dominated.
What is a good way to generate group consensus on future topics? Also, how do we keep this fresh for both the developer crowd and the business users without catering to or boring one or the other? What are the right speakers to bring in? What are enterprise Drupal topics that dont get covered much?
These are just some questions and ideas that were floating through my head on the drive home.
