I'm just wondering if anyone could shed any light on the status of the brilliant ecommerce module for drupal. I'm currently building every new site from drupal 6, so am looking to guage a release date for a version of the module which is ready for version 6 of drupal.
Thanks in advance for any info,
chris

many are looking for the
d6 version like you
Dreamweaver Extension
money needs throwing
but none have found/developed on yet? argh - this sounds like a project that needs money throwing at it!
how much
how much money?
Dreamweaver Extension
well quite....
that's definately the question. enough to keep several talented drupal developers properly paid for a month or two - how much might that be? EUR 4000?
Well, someone started this
Well, someone started this http://drupal.org/project/ecommerce_plus. It also says it will be deleted in one week but it's still there. Maybe someone should contact brmassa.
The issue here is that EC4 is only in Alpha stage. It will have to stabilize first and then it can be ported. Unless someone goes through the trouble of porting it and maintaining it in parallel with the D5 version. The main contributor probably won't do this since he's too busy working on de D5-EC4 version.
yep,
I can certainly see the problem. It's difficult when it's such a community based thing - much as it's a labour of love at times, those clients just have to come first.
It seems like an important move to have a great ecomm mod available for drupal version 6 - it will encourage the migration of sites to that new platform, which will only become better in version 7. At the moment there seems to be a bit of a split at version 6 would you say?
Will keep an eye out for developers and also see if I can get some funding to see if an ecommerce mod for drupal 6 can be bumped up the priority list a little :)
D6 version on the way!
Guys,
gordon wants to launch eC4 to D5 first then start the porting process. Since it takes quite a time, im building it in parallel to accelerate it. However, it will take a bit of time.
The Drupal.org admin asked me to stop using a separated project for this (was hosted on http://drupal.org/project/ecommerce_plus). Its now on Drupal's sandbox.
Its not ready even to test, coz there are several things missing and its basically not working. Once i get it 85% working i report here back ok?
best regards,
massa
