Drupal Mapping & GIS Presentations in Szeged
public
group: Location and Mapping

Hi everyone,
Bec and Bdragon submitted proposals for two Mapping/GIS events at DrupalCon Szeged - please head on over and vote!
A Roadmap for Mapping: GIS on Drupal in 2008 and Beyond! will cover the current status of GIS efforts on Drupal and the immediate plans for the most common modules: Location, Gmap, and the soon-to-be-released Geo module. This will be very similar to the well-received GIS overview session they presented in Boston.
Simple Mapping Mashups With Drupal, a Birds of a Feather session, will be a hands-on workshop where participants will quickly construct Drupal-based mapping sites with simple and often-requested mapping features.
Help support our mapping efforts by voting for these two sessions on the Szeged program page!

trackfield
You might like to take a look at the trackfield module. Although in it's infancy I know a couple of sites are using it right now, see:

proposals accepted
"Good news, everyone!" :)
Both of Becw's proposals were accepted, so we will have a "State of Geospatial on Drupal" session as well as a BoF for building map-based mashups in Drupal. Thanks very much to everyone who voted for these sessions!
We'll try to do some sneak previews of our content here, especially as Bdragon and Becw continue their work on the D6 ports of Loc3 and Gmap through August.
Thanks!
Jim
