I can code just a little, OK with HTML, cut and paste Java, toy with some other stuff - none of it as a true expert.

That's why I wrote the other poll. Being a coder can definitely be a considered a wide area. Personally, I consider a coder someone who can sit down and develop in software and understand it (even at a basic level). I appreciate comments like yours that describe where you're at. It helps make things more clear.
