I vote Why Drupal. I'm especially interested in contrasts between Drupal and for-pay cms's like Expression Engine, and popular coding frameworks like Ruby on Rails and CakePHP. But, I assume for the majority of people an in depth Drupal vs. Wordpress vs. Joomla would be the most worthwhile.
Even if it is a breakdown of the big three I could use a refresher for convincing clients.
Hi--My vote is Drush--I'm studying a Mac/Unix book to learn how to use the command line and want to start managing my Drupal sites with Drush. Second choice is panels which I am quickly learning to appreciate. I work exclusively with Drupal and so don't need to understand/compare Drupal with other systems. I don't know Pittsburgh at all (am in Erie) but do hope to attend the next meeting wherever it is. Thanks!

Why one would choose Drupal over another CMS is a very important early topic to cover. It can help someone who has heard of Drupal make an informed decision, or encourage a manager to make a better decision. Since we've been posting videos of the talks, this would be very valuable to our community.
That said, I can't wait for Drush and Panels to be covered. These are both areas of Drupal that I've woefully been slacking on. :-)
While it would be good to have an overview about why Drupal is the best choice, and what the other options are, I really need to learn more about Panels. I'm one of only 2 candidates for a Junior Drupal Developer position. If hired, I have the task of taking an existing html site, www.msasports.net, and creating a Drupal website with the same content. I've looked at the Panels module page, and it looks very similar to what "we" (hopeful sense) need. I will definitely be attending, and will enjoy and learn from whatever topic is discussed, but this - and how to edit the html.js file on a new Drupal site (background html) - are both things I have an immediate need to learn.

I would recommend getting a free trial to Safari Books (http://my.safaribooksonline.com/), where you'll have access to a TON of Drupal books including the Panels Cookbook. Safari Books has a wealth of books, so I recommend it for other research as well.
Looks like everything is tied up at two votes per. These are all great topics -- what we don't get to this month, we should definitely queue up. How about a new approach: Any volunteers to present?
Liz D. volunteered a high-level overview of Panels, and if that offer still stands, I'm leaning towards that unless we can get other volunteers.
If you haven't voted, please do!
I'd love to have the word out on this here, on twitter, and on meetup.com by early next week at the latest.
