Note: As of April 2012, individual Docs Office Hours events are being posted to http://groups.drupal.org/documentation-team and the schedule has changed, so the post below is not current. You can also find the office hours events on the site-wide Events calendar of IRC meetings.
Hey Team -
Docs office hours have been such a success, that I'm going to just set this as a weekly event rather than keep posting single events to g.d.o. I'll try and tweet reminders every week as well from @drupaldocs.
I (and often Jennifer) will be holding "Office Hours" on IRC from 1-2pm PST Tuesdays. Anyone who's working on the current Sprint or anything else that you need feedback on, please do come to IRC to ask question or request peer reviews.
If you need more info on IRC, there's a bunch on the Drupal.org IRC page, and we'll be in the #drupal-docs channel.
Rock the Docs!

Time zones
Here's a link to figure out what time Tuesday at 1 PM US/Canada-Pacific (Seattle, Los Angeles, Vancouver) time is in your time zone (at least for next week's office hours):

I wish to attend this docs dicussion in IRC.
Hi,
I wish to attend this docs discussion in IRC but for me the time becomes wednesday 1:30 am.
Thats too late for me to attend.
If you could please shift the timing to 10am US time.It will be approximately 10pm India time.
Thanks.
Not sure...
It's pretty difficult to find a time that works for everyone all around the whole world, sorry! The time also has to work for Ariane and myself. We'll talk about the possibilities, though. Thanks for the suggestion!
I will also try the next few days to get on IRC earlier in the morning my time, so that you can find me and ask whatever questions you have. But I can't do it today, sorry! I have another meeting.
What questions do you have? Maybe we can answer them here... And I think I already pointed you towards our general guide to contributing to documentation: http://drupal.org/contribute/documentation
If your questions are about a specific Documentation page, you can ask questions by filing an issue in the Documentation project issue queue. We have information on that on this page: http://drupal.org/node/24565

Jennifer

Mornings are difficult...
I just talked to Ariane about moving the time, and the problem is that mornings are difficult for her, due to having a lot of work meetings scheduled at that time with clients on the US east coast. So, we really can't move the docs office hours to 10 AM. Sorry!
I will try to be in IRC the next few days at 10 AM west coast US time to help you get going as a documentation contributor, but as I said in my previous post, that was not possible for me to do today. You can also ask questions of anyone else who is in the #drupal-docs channel, and someone may be able to help you with your questions.

Hi Jennifer,I saw this link
Hi Jennifer,
I saw this link http://drupal.org/documentation/manage posted by Ariane on one of this groups page. And I found a page that was an insecure code page.
I found out why that page was marked as insecure code.and then I found an issue filed for that.(omf_ helped me with this).
Then I didnt know if I should have assigned that to myself or how I should have solved it.
So needed guidance from doc admins in this case.
I will be there in irc in this week 10 pm India time.
Procedure...
I guess we don't have the procedure for working on an issue written down, sorry!
Here's the usual procedure:
a) Assign the issue to yourself.
b) Edit the page(s) that the issue is talking about.
c) Change the issue to "Needs review" status, and add a comment explaining which pages you changed and a short description of what you changed. Also, un-assign the issue.
Also, if you find a page that has problems, and there is not an issue already in the issue queue, you can do this:
a) Edit the page.
b) File a new issue in the Documentation project. Mark it "needs review", and explain the changes you made.
If you edit a page and you don't think the changes really need review (for instance, maybe you just fixed a little bit of grammar), then you don't need to file an issue asking for a review.

Procedure written down now!
I just added:
http://drupal.org/node/1204344
to document this procedure. I'm glad you asked the question - I thought we had that written down, but apparently not!

No more office hours?
Not too many people have been coming to Docs Office Hours lately, so I'm thinking of shutting them down for the time being, or perhaps making them monthly (with announcements of specific topics to discuss?) or maybe just "as-needed".
Any thoughts on this?

Promote rather than drop
I haven't been very good about attending myself but I'd rather see them continue promote participation.
It's good to have a set time to drop in.

In principle...
In principle, I agree with you that having a set time for "drop-in" should be a good idea. But in practice, we have not had people actually show up to discuss things for quite a while. I'm trying to put my volunteer-for-Drupal time to its best use, and I'm not sure this is the best use of it.
Even a recent well-announced discussion of curated docs during office hours only had a couple of docs team participants. It's not encouraging me to want to continue to hold office hours.

I can try to help
Are the Doc Office Hours times Tuesday 1-2pm PST? That's 3pm CST (my time zone). If so, they fall between the Core Office Hour times (Monday 10-midnight CST; Wednesday 10-Noon CST). I'm usually in those. I can try to 'announce' it there. That might help.
Some of the stuff we work on there ends up impacting documentation anyway. And you're the new co-maintainer for that stuff for D7 & D8 now right? Congrats on the 'promotion', by the way.
:-)
I know you don't want to feel like you're wasting your time. But I think working on the Docs is a good way for beginners (like me!) to get involved. And I remember reading a post webchick wrote about "Documenting your way to understanding Drupal". So, I'd hate to see the Doc Office Hours stop.
I'll do what I can to try to help promote it. I may be able to make it TO the Office Hours next week. But I'm usually just getting home with my daughter from school during that hour.
Core API docs or on-line docs?
The Docs Office Hours have been mostly for the on-line docs, not the API docs, so I don't think there is much overlap between the Core Office Hours crowd and the on-line docs maintainers. But if people start showing up in Docs Office Hours, with relevant discussions and/or questions, I will be happy to continue them.

Either?
I dropped a few "commercials" in IRC during the COH session earlier tonight. While most of the people in COH are helping with Core, they're ALSO people willing to CONTRIBUTE. So, I thought that might be a good crowd to pull from. There are also a lot of new contributors there, as XJM helps us all out.
So, while they (we!) are learning how to help make contributions to Core, I thought some of them might be willing to help document some of what they've learned.
I won't be able to make it to Doc Office Hours tomorrow, but I hope you get some better turn out.
Probably moving to new time...
See http://groups.drupal.org/node/220804 to have input on when Docs Office Hours should take place.

Trying new times
We are definitely trying new times, so I'm going to edit this post and mark it obsolete and make it not sticky.... Going forward, each Docs Office Hours will be posted a a separate Event in the group, which will also get it onto the site-wide Events calendar.
