I just moved here (Spokane) from the Seattle area... The last couple of years, I have led the "Seattle Drupal Clinic", which is an all-day workshop for people new to Drupal interested in learning about site building (see http://poplarclass.com for more information).
I'm wondering if there is interest in having a similar workshop here in Spokane. The last one we did in Seattle (summer 2010), we filled up the 30 slots fairly quickly ($25 per person for all day, including lunch). I taught the workshop, and I had about 4 additional volunteers who were there to rove around the room and answer questions for attendees.
So... if I did it here, I would also need some volunteers to help out (it's a great marketing opportunity!), and some leads on a venue (library? community college?) and a reliable place to order box lunches.
Any interest? thoughts?

Notes...
At our last user group meeting, we discussed this a bit. Here are some notes:
Venue suggestions: Libraries, SFCC, SCC, SIRTI building, Templins Red Lion in Post Falls, WSU/EWU
I looked into several of these. SFCC looks possible but somewhat expensive. Spokane County Library looks like a good possibility. Spokane city library only allows free events, but they do have a computer lab. WSU/EWU is only available with someone on campus sponsoring. SCC's web site has nothing I could find on facility rental. Conclusion: probably Spokane County Library, if we can get an all-day room. Or if we hold it on a series of evenings instead of all day.
Publicity: I've been collecting ideas for publicity. So far: CraigsList, Flyers at tech colleges, Inlander, CDA Press, NickleNick, backpage.com, bizspokane.com, spokane7.com, and Eventful -- any other ideas/
Volunteers: Myke, Jessie, and Marshall expressed interest in volunteering for this event.
Dates: Possibly in September, so it's just a bit before the Summit in Portland in October?
