So DrupalCampParis3 and DrupalCampMontreal will be held both on the first week-end of October. It would be so great to organize sessions across the big pond.
DrupalCampParis3 (also see the BarCamp wiki page), held on October 4th and 5th, will be hosted by a great place named La Cantine, a collaborative space full of screens and equipped with a top notch fiber internet connection. The DrupalCamp itself will be held on Saturday, and we are expecting around a hundred participants.
The fun don't stop there. The same week-end we when we will organize the first edition of an event we call Drupal n'Go, a community effort to help a NGO get some ass-kicking internet presence. In only 2 days, we will build a complete and live website for a selected NGO. All free. Free as in free beer, and free as in free speech. The NGO has been selected and the project will be uncovered within the next few days.
The DrupalCampMontreal will be held on October 3rd and 4th, hosted by the great folks of Koumbit.org (hi, there!).
So we have a full day (ie. only half a day, with the timezone difference) when we could host common sessions!
For a start, let me invite you to a live session co-hosted by Angela Byron and myself:
Angela and Damien talk about Testing and D7 development (how to make Drupal better, and get your patches accepted) [temporary title]
On Saturday, October 4th live from Paris to Montreal at 10am (Montreal Time), 4pm (Paris Time)
Do you like the idea? Should we do more sessions like this one? Could we collaborate to iron out the practical details (set up a live video feed, coordinate teams and schedules, etc.)?

Coordinator of the DrupalCampParis3 + DrupalNGO

You are a rock star Damien :)
It's great to have Angie and you for this session.
I have updated the wiki page http://barcamp.org/DrupalCampParis3
Hmmm....
One of the other sessions in Montreal will be about "Francisation de Drupal" ... I think that it would be good to let the folks in Montreal and Paris brainstorm about this individually and then perhaps hold a "way forward" session together.

Great
Great idea, too.
About this, we have a translation server and are working on improving it:

Note that our last session will be 4pm - 5pm (10am - 11am in Montreal).
How could we work out the set up of the video feed?

Typographic filter
We are ironing a new typographic filter for French punctuation that I could present during this session, if there is any interest about that.
It is different from the typogrify Drupal filter (http://drupal.org/project/typogrify) as it is french centric where typogrify is english centric (and it is very different).

SmartyPants rules, too
Have you seen SmartyPants typographer? It's a drop-down replacement for SmartyPants with great support for French typography.

Can be used as-is in the great Drupal Markdown+SmartyPants filter.

I know it
But it does not satisfy purists (I am not one of them, but some of my co-workers are).
The main problem is with quote. To make it short.
"Il lui avait dit : "Impossible, vous "plaisantez"""
should be turnded into (_ ->& nbsp;)
«Elle me fit remarquer qu'il lui avait dit:“Impossible, vous ‘plaisantez’”»
SmartyPants typographer is fare to be able to do that.
I will contact the author to see if we can contribute our enhancements.
