We now have a venue/date for DrupalCampNH 2011!!
I met this morning with Denise, the event coordinator at SNHU, and firmed up details. I have not signed the contract, but she will be sending that over to me in the next day or two for finalization. However, we are "secured" for the Robert Frost Hall on October 29th, 2011. We will have the Walker Auditorium (seats 218) and 5 classrooms (ea. seats roughly 30). I have the option at any time to get additional classrooms should the need arise, but I think 5 rooms (4 for sessions and one for BOF) will probably suffice.
I will be dealing with the food/catering situation separately from the primary venue, but hope to be able to reach a good (and affordable) option for the camp.
As the website goes live (hope to have the dev site up for testing by this weekend) I will post an event in this and neighboring groups to start drawing attention.
Since the date DID get pushed back to the 29th, this gives us exactly 4 months from today to prepare, invite our friends, invite our Drupal clients, draw in some great speakers & topics, and get sponsors lined up to make this the best (and largest) camp to date in the area!
Now that the venue (most important) task is "complete", and the site nears completion, I will be reaching out soon to those of you that have offered to help in QA and content creation/editing. We will also be narrowing down the task list to complete pre-camp, and asking for/assigning a couple more volunteers that will fill other "committee chair" positions.
I look forward to helping make this a great camp, and a great experience for those new to Drupal, and seasoned pros alike!
Mark your calendars, and prepare for awesomesauce!
