Note: This wiki was started in 2011 and hasn't been edited much since 2012. At this point (2018) I would assume it's pretty out of date...
Apparently, at least one person has not been attending the Drupal meetings in Spokane, due to them being on Wednesdays (I didn't know -- just assumed that since they had been on Wednesdays, we should keep doing Wednesdays). So, starting with the August meeting (too late to change July at this point), I'd like to find out what day(s) work for people. We might alternate days (like, say, Tuesday one month and Wednesday the next) -- but let's see which days work for people.
I was going to create a poll for this, but as any Drupal site builder who's tried them will know, they are not very flexible. So I decided to just create a Wiki page (given that we have 39 members in this group, I think it will be fine). So, can everyone who is interested in attending Drupal meet-ups in the greater Spokane area please click "Edit" above, and add their user name to the following lists to indicate which days, times, and locations do and don't work for them? And if you have other comments or ideas, you can leave a comment on this page. Thanks!

Meet Up Location Option/Idea?
Mike>> Hi Jennifer, I thought I would leave a quick comment about an alternative meet-up location that can accommodate the groups size - with WIFI. Just recently, last month I believe, a new Valley coffee shop opened up called Forza Coffee Company. They are located at 325 S. Sullivan, Suite C, Spokane Valley, WA 99037, near Central Valley High School at 4th and Sullivan. I've spoken with the manager and she confirmed for me that they do have WIFI, have great coffee (although I've never tried the Forza brand), and now serve beer and wine. You can check out there FB page here. Anyways, to stay within the Coffee Shop atmosphere, thought I would throw it out there since this new coffee shop is probably not known yet. I personally plan to taste their brew of coffee tomorrow morning on the way to work at Ciena. :)
By the way, sorry for first adding this comment to the actual wiki page, got a little confused for a minute doing five things at the same time...sorry!
-Mike
Another option
Someone also suggested the Revive coffee house near Nevada and Francis, but I checked their web site and they close at 6pm, so I think that wouldn't work too well.

Tried Forza...
We tried the Forza coffee house for the August meeting (yesterday). Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 people who tried to get on the WiFi were unable to do so (the other 4 people who attended didn't try). And we also all thought the acoustics were a bit on the nosy side. So, I think we'll go back to the Rocket Bakery on Argonne for the next meeting. They are open until 8pm, so it should be OK.

How was it outside of the WiFi? Any good conversations? Maybe I can make this next one... starts looking for babysitters
Good!
We had 7 people at the August meeting, and many good conversations. Hopefully you can make the next one... Meeting on weekends (the only time you indicated you could come) does not work for others in the group (including myself), so if you can adjust your schedule somehow, we'd love to meet you!

Great!
It looks like they're open late:
Mon - Thurs: 5:00 am - 9:00 pm
Fri: 5:00 am - 10:00 pm
Sat: 6:00 am - 10:00 pm
Sun: 7:00 am - 9:00 pm
And I think adding a comment for this to the Wiki is an excellent idea. No need to apologize! :)

Please respond soon...
I would like to schedule the August meeting sometime in the next week or so, so that people can plan ahead. So, if you are interested in attending Spokane Drupal Group meetings and want to have some influence on when and where they are held, please edit this page soon (top of page -- log in and click Edit -- add your user name to the appropriate spots)!

Chill Spot
I have not personally stopped by this place, but the name should give it some intrigue. ;) It's decent size and has free parking.

Possibly...
For the people who have taken the time to respond thus far, it looks like Spokane Valley is the preferred location... and if we were to go with Downtown, it seems to me that this place is a bit north, so anyone coming from east or west would have a bit of driving to do off the freeway. Frozen yogurt is an interesting idea as an alternative to coffee though...

No more interest?
Could anyone who is actually interested in attending Drupal meetings in the greater Spokane area please add their name to the schedule above? So far, only 3 people besides me have responded, and one of the three has a schedule incompatible with two of the others (including me). So it looks like I could only pick a day for meetings that would work for two other people...
Over the past three months that I've organized Spokane Drupal meetings, a total of 6 or 7 different people have come. If any of you are still interested in having meetings, please fill in the above page... Otherwise, I think I'll wait on organizing another meeting until more people express interest. And I might try to focus my energy on organizing a workshop for Drupal beginners, which might be more of an attraction?

Meet-ups and Workshops
Hi Jennifer, I'm definitely interested in anything you want to throw out there. Meet-ups, workshops. I'm really looking forward to learning as much as I possibly can, and getting to work on some things. My schedule changes a lot and I've gotten pretty good at juggling, so pretty much any time/day... I can work around it (usually). Thanks for all your work on this! ~Lisa
Another meeting location option
I didn't realize that there was a Drupal UG in Spokane. I'd like to offer up my conference/meeting room at Strong Solutions. http://spokanemac.com We're an independent Apple Authorizes Reseller and Service Provider. We are about 3 minutes from Downtown Spokane with plenty of free on-street parking. I have great WiFi and our own custom blend of Craven's Coffee. And, the Checkerboard Tavern is right next door, if coffee doesn't suit.
We currently use Drupal for our web site and I know a few others that dabble in Drupal that might be interested.
Sounds good...
Thanks for the offer of space!
I already have the September meeting scheduled http://groups.drupal.org/node/167824 -- but let's keep this in mind for October and beyond. What is your conference room set-up like: how many people, projector, table style, etc.?
Also, we are looking for space and a projector to use for a beginner's workshop -- if you have either available, it would be great if you could respond here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/167869
I'm leaning towards using the Spokane Valley library as the location (located near Sprague and Pines, not too far from your office I think?), but they don't have a projector. We have an offer from someone to sponsor a projector rental for the workshop (no details yet), but if we could just borrow a projector for the three proposed evenings of the workshop (or even one or two of them), that would be wonderful.

I have been unable to make the meetings
I am completely unable to make the meetings on Thrusdays, I am interested in being able to start back up, as I feel I could really help out / love to show the projects I have been working on.
Based on the information above Monday's seem to be the winner for availability of the Spokane users.
Can you meet during the day?
The group that is meeting now on Thursdays is meeting during the day (10 AM to noon). The wiki here was only looking at evening times, and the people in our current Thursday group do not want to or cannot meet in the evenings, so I don't think the "monday is good" conclusions from this page are necessarily relevant to day-time meetings.
So... Are you available during the day on any weekday mornings? If so, let me know which days will work for you, and at our next meeting (which is already scheduled for May 9), we can discuss whether a schedule change would work for the "regulars" who have faithfully been coming on Thursday mornings. I wouldn't want to change the schedule if it would mean that one or more of the people who have been coming on a regular basis would then be unable to attend... I'm sorry that our current schedule doesn't work for you, and I'll do what I can!
If day-times don't work for you, you can also feel free start a new discussion thread in the group about starting up an evening meet-up again. But I will say that last year when I was organizing evening meet-ups, I didn't have very many repeat attendees or very many people coming in general, which is why I talked to the few people who were attending regularly and we settled on the Thursday morning time as the best for all of us. (I'm not very interested myself in organizing evening meetings because I prefer day-time and because of this past experience.)

I would enjoy attending this
I would enjoy attending this group, but it not being downtown makes it improbable.
Centrally located
The greater Spokane area extends from the Cheney/Airport area out to Coeur d'Alene and beyond. Two of our regular attendees live in Idaho, in fact.
So, we chose a location kind of in the middle between the people who were regularly attending when we chose this meeting time and place. I'm sorry it isn't working out for you, but it is definitely more convenient for many of us where it is than it would be downtown, especially as we are meeting during the daytime and would have to pay to park downtown, find parking spaces, etc. The library where we meet is pretty easy to get to and has plenty of parking.
