Flag and Deploy

I have a rough beta beta of the site I'm building using the Flag module up if anyone wants to poke around at it.

http://heyrocker.com/listology/

It is a redo of a site a guy i know runs called listology.com where people make and maintain lists of things. If you create a new user, then on the node page you will see the option to add a node to your favorites, and on user profile pages you can "endorse" a user (make them your friend.) Endorsees/Endorsements are surfaced in blocks in the right sidebar on user profile pages, and favorites are surfaced in a tab on the profile pages. You can also choose Browse -> Favorites to get views of Most Recently Favorited and Most Favorited. This was all done with Flag's admin UI and Views integration. No custom code (except a line in the node template to place the link where I wanted it, which isn't necessary if you're less picky than I am.)

I'll be launching this site in a couple months, it's a personal project and should be cool. It has a solid community and there's more I want to do with it.

On another topic, after the meeting last night, some of us were talking about getting together for a lunch/afternoon session about the new version of Deploy that I'm buidling. If anyone is interested in that, let me know. I could host it here at Startpad in the conference room. The new version of deploy will included automated synching of content (nodes / users / comments) along with dependency management and various ways to create automated deployment (on a schedule, on insert, on demand, etc.) Good stuff. Leave a comment if you're itnerested and we'll get something scheduled.

Great meeting last night! Hope we can keep up the momentum!

would love to see Deploy

Count me in on the Deploy thing. I'm out of town Wed 11/26 - Mon 12/1 but otherwise pretty much free.

Great meeting last night! Hope we can keep up the momentum!

Isn't pizza magic? :)

Tried out flag again.

After it was mentioned it at the meeting, I tried out the flag module again. I'd forgotten it was just for logged in users. Would be nice if annoymous users could pitch in a vote... of lesser value I imagine.

I suppose this is why they have voting API, when you want to go nuts with that type of interaction.

Still want to do this

I still want to present Deploy but I want to get it to a somewhat stable place before I do and the last few days have been progressing very very slowly. Hopefully I can schedule something before the end of the week.
