Thanks to Troy McLuhan (http://groups.drupal.org/user/2566) for pointing this out to me. Looks like a great analog for us to look to, especially in light of efforts already underway to integrate Moodle and Drupal.

Yes, been around...
I've advocated Moodle myself for education scenarios. I don't know that there has been any tangible progress on the SLoodle front, and honestly I don't feel like creating a login to find out. If there is an analog for SL and Drupal, it is that Moodle's integration is based on the context of education. Of course, Apache Tomcat adds a better toolset for this.
The problem - and blessing - of Drupal is that it is not limited to one context. As I was discussing with someone last night - context is what will determine SL integration.
