SecondLife

Once upon a time, I made a Drupal module called metaverse. It's a sort of update of the secondlife module. It had a home at github.

But now, it's a sandbox project on drupal.org! Woot!

http://drupal.org/sandbox/Mile23/1098076 is the place to be. You can file issues and patches there as with any d.o project. Since it's a sandbox project, it's only available through git.

Of course, if you want to fork and push, the github project still exists: https://github.com/paul-m/metaverse

I see that the Second Life module hasn't been updated since Drupal 5. Is anyone interested in working on this again? I would be more than happy to help with the module to get a version that works with Drupal 7. I have not used the old version because I don't have a site running on that platform.

Anyone have any example sites implementing http://drupal.org/project/secondlife framework module? Im curious to see what folks have done .. an x-street clone perhaps or something even cooler? ....or is it not that capable yet? Im going to test it out tonight and see.

im actually building some modules to control an opensimulator grid using drupal
these modules can use the database directly (the bases can be on the same server as drupal or be separated) or they can control services like Radmin or OsServices or control another drupal website that can access the base directly using webservices.

These modules are using hooks to get/insert infos and the database files are separated. The opensim database layout will change soon, so this should not be a problem.

here is a new toy/tool to use with SecondLife / OpenSim

this is a module to be able to log in a drupal's site using your SecondLife / OpenSim credentials
in the admin panel of the module, you can define the login uri and you can choose a login flow : 0=drupal only / 2=inworld only / 3=drupal -> inworld / 4=inworld -> drupal
to be able to use the drupal login if the inworld login fails or invert...

i m trying to port the components i have made for Joomla! to be used with drupal.
the first one is called slcontact.

i will not release them in one time and i will proceed by steps because im learning how to dev for Drupal on the same time.

i project to release a module that will depend on this framework and will allow :
- to register on the site from in-world
- to receive messages from the website ( like the contact form )

the message system is already working and i will need then to see how to register on the site ( and learn cvs...:( i prefear svn :) ).

-Have SecondLife chat transcripts autopost as nodes to a corollary Drupal site

-Map SecondLife accounts to Drupal accounts and vice-versa

-Have registering for an Organic Group on a Drupal site automatically add a user to a SecondLife group and vice-versa

-Have Nodes on a Drupal site automatically publish as posts in a SecondLife group and vice-versa

-Easily publish movies (video capture) of SecondLife activity to a node... A machinima (http://secondlife.com/showcase/machinima.php) plugin for Broacast Machine (http://www.getdemocracy.com/broadcast/) anyone? ;)
