DrupalScienceCamp Cambridge - 21st and 22nd January 2012

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.
eubielicious's picture
Start:
2012-01-21 09:00 - 2012-01-22 16:00 Europe/London
Event type:
Drupalcamp or Regional Summit

You can signup for this event by going to http://www.drupalsciencecamp.org.uk/ - the fee to attend is £10 - a real bargain!

Note: These dates are now confirmed!

Note: Registration for the event will take place for everyone at 9am on Saturday morning - there will be no early registration on Friday evening

We are planning a DrupalScienceCamp to start 2012 off with a bang - or at least a bump to get you through January!

This camp will take place at the Science Park in Cambridge (hence the title!).

We have a fabulous venue on the Cambridge Science Park and a range of facilities, along with food during the day and (I'm told) a constant supply of very good coffee and all at what should be an extremely modest price (to be confirmed, but likely to be under £50).

Look out for the following:

  • Fabulous meeting rooms
  • Space to meet your fellow Drupalers and chat
  • A variety of sessions from talks to round-table discussions and Sunday BoF sessions - the variety is up to you!

Put the 21st-22nd January 2012 in your diary and get ready to take part. We are looking for the following:

  • People who want to help organise the event
  • Speakers to present or run sessions
  • Requests for sessions
  • Sponsors to help with the costs of the event to help us keep the price down

What's not to like? Get the dates in your diary and start thinking about what you'd like to see - and what you'd like to contribute.

Please get in touch with any questions or queries or leave comment below.

Otherwise start planning ahead and look for more information here soon.

Current status of DrupalScienceCamp

eubielicious's picture

Just to keep everyone updated.

The dates and venue are confirmed, and we just need to finalise the catering, so the event is definitely on.

The next steps are:
1 - set up an organising committee to work on the details of the event,
2 - speak to sponsors and potential sponsors with a view to subsidising the cost of the event,
3 - hosting and setting up a website to allow people to register interest, request and suggest sessions, and (if there is a cost to attend), pay the event fee.

Please look out for further announcements. I anticipate that there will be some kind of online meeting for interested parties to get involved, probably next week - that is w/c 21st November.

Thanks,

Euan

Sounds great. I now need to be extra nice to my wife so she'll let me go!

I'm pretty busy at the moment so i wouldn't be able to help out much, but i'd be happy to give advice from my experiences of organising Drupal7Camp and i'd be happy to present on front end development topics like responsive design

Great news - thanks Matt

Hi Matt,

It would be great to have you along, and to learn from your experience. I think we need to have some kind of conference call to hammer out the details, possibly later this week.

I am temporarily in London (three months) and I would glad to attend. Have you thought of providing a hackspace? I would be glad to help people fix a few major bugs, we have too many :)

Excellent news!!!!

eubielicious's picture

Excellent news - one of the spaces we were planning to have at the event was a 'Coders Lounge/Coders Corner' where there would be a constant supply of coffee and space for small groups to get together, as one of the things people like most about DrupalCon/DrupalCamps is having the ability to meet, chat and share with other Drupalers - complementing the scheduled sessions.

I think it would be a great plan to use the gathering as an opportunity to put something back into the community, either via training or via sprints and the like.

This could be the kickstart we need to really get this event moving.

Next Steps towards DrupalScienceCamp

eubielicious's picture

Just thinking aloud, here are the next important steps to getting DrupalScienceCamp on the road:

1 - set up website
2 - confirm costs
3 - seek sponsorship - to subsidise cost of event and to provide goodies (t-shirt etc)
4 - confirm ticket price for attendees
5 - session requests and offers via website
6 - confirm accommodation options, prices and so on

Can anyone else think of other items? Ideally we need to have a conference call via Skype or IRC session to discuss these items, suggest Monday 5th December at 7pm UK time - open to anyone interested in being a part of this event. Let me know if this is OK or completely rubbish as it clashes with some other Drupally event/call! :)

Euan

Sounds good, I'm happy to

aburrows's picture

Sounds good, I'm happy to talk about something Drupal. Best practices? Configuration? Theming? Module Dev? Give me a topic and I'll gladly come up with something.

Also happy to volunteer and do anything for the event and during the event.

Count me in!

I'd love to join a Skype / IRC planning session on Monday.

We (Oxford Drupal Users Group) are planning a Drupalcamp in Oxford - possibly in June (http://groups.drupal.org/node/191483) - so keen to pick up experience and advice from others, as well as get involved and help with this event as far as I can.

Out of interest, what's the capacity of your venue?

Look forward to finding out more!

:)

Finn.

Max capacity of venue (in the biggest meeting room) is 120. The area is quite flexible so we can run 2 or 3 threads if numbers and speakers allow, plus several smaller meeting rooms and open meeting space.

I'm meeting with facilities again on Monday to get better quotes on food ( basically our only significant cost )

Hi Euan and Rachel

I've written a base theme that allows 960gs based sites to be easily converted to a responsive design. If there
was any interest I would be happy to do a session on it.

The theme is currently going through the d.o. project approval process but hopefully it would be a
full project by the time of Drupal Science Camp.

Update - Now full project at

eubielicious's picture

For anyone interested in helping with/discussing/being part of DrupalScienceCamp, we're going to have an IRC meeting (via Freenode, using channel #drupalsciencecamp) to run through some of the things we need to organise ahead of this DrupalCamp. I'll be on the chat, and hopefully Rachel will be too.

This is the rough agenda of what we'll cover:

Website hosting, setup and administration,
Cost of event to run,
Sponsorship - ideas as to who we can approach, what we can get sponsors to do,
Ticket price for attendees - at this stage we can probably set a ceiling price, although sponsorship may bring this down significantly,
Themes and threads - my thinking was having a mix of formal talks, round table discussions, workshops, how-to demonstrations and informal areas for people to meet, chat etc,
Options for accommodation and prices (if we have them),
Any other items missed.

I'll post this on the Drupal UK site and also mention it in the #drupal-uk IRC channel.

Any comments, additions, ideas etc. most welcome.

Euan

Oh Oh

greg.harvey's picture

Can we play? Could do a session or two... Maybe some sponsorship too, but I'd need to check that with the others. =)

Session organisation

eubielicious's picture

For anyone who is interested in running a session of any kind, here's what I was thinking:

Saturday will be mostly sessions that will have been organised and set up ahead of the event, while Sunday will be mostly run along a BarCamp/BoF type setup complete with a big post-it note wall for sessions and this will be down to the attendees to make it work.

Of course this is all open to change and the facilities give us lots of flexibility!

Suitability

thoughtcat's picture

Hi, I'd really like to come along to this - it's easy for me to get to and it's affordable. It'll be my first Drupal event. My key question is that although I've used Drupal for about 3 years and have developed several sites with it, I'm not very technical - I've picked up bits and pieces through the forums and Googling but I can't write a custom module, for example. Will this event be suitable for someone like me or is it really aimed at coders?

Audiences for DrupalScienceCamp

eubielicious's picture

Hi thoughtcat,

It's really down to everyone attending to provide the variety, but I know we'll be having a good variety of sessions, which will be for people of all abilities from newcomers to Drupal, right through to a space which will be for people who want to spend the weekend fixing bugs in the code... and everyone in between. I think there will be plenty for you to get your teeth into.

Once the website is up and running, we should start to see proposals for sessions and offers start to come in and then the event will start to take shape. Part of the beauty of these events is meeting up with other Drupal people, sharing ideas, and learning lots of useful stuff.

Euan

Volunteer speaker here

nano_monkey's picture

I really need to learn to love Views - so this might be a good opportunity for me to really explore, and report back on, what they are capable of.

Great idea

eubielicious's picture

Hi Clare (and everyone else),

I think this is the sort of thing we're looking for: people taking the time to explain how they were able to solve a particular problem, or what they learned from using a particular tool, module, theme framework or whatever. When we get the website up and running, there will be hopefully the ability to both propose and request sessions. Also note that the plan is to make Sunday more free-form, ideally we'll have lots of small workshops, demonstrations, talks, discussions, etc. that are created as we go. Saturday we'll be looking to create at least two 'streams' if we have definite threads covering areas people want to learn. There will also be a bug-squashing area which is being run by chx, and that'll be there for anyone wanting to do some serious coding!

One upshot of Drupal's flexibility is that there's always another way to get a particular outcome - so keep your ideas coming!!!

Accomodation

stevepurkiss's picture

Hiya - really interested in coming up from Brighton for this - any news or advice on accomodation e.g. B&Bs or best areas to look? I'm thinking in terms of what's going to be easiest for transport at the weekend to the science park...

Accomodation

rachel_norfolk's picture

Hi all,

(yes, I am a very bad person and still have a half-ready website. I'll release a version this year, honest!)

As it happens, I have just been to look at the Travelodge at Orchard Park, Cambridge as this is within very easy walking distance of the Science Park. They have a sale on and rooms for the 21st are £15 right now!!! Cambridge has lots of accommodation but this has to be a bargain - and it's brand new...

Rachel

Excellent!

stevepurkiss's picture

Thanks Rachel, that sounds perfect!

It's time to confirm your sessions!!!

eubielicious's picture

Hi all,

Just to let you know that I'll be following up in the next few days on people who've suggested they'd like to run a session on the Saturday. Ideally we're looking for two 'threads': one for beginners to Drupal and one for more advanced web developers. Looks like we have a lot of interest in responsive web design, particularly involving Omega. Also is there interest in a beginners guide to module development - either from those who'd want to attend such a session and from those who would be interested in leading a session on it?

Finally, it's worth noting that for those who want to run smaller, informal talks and discussions, the Sunday will be more free-form and will run mostly along the lines of a Barcamp - ideally everyone attending will come ready to talk about a problem they solved, or something that's of interest. This can include areas that are not directly Drupal-related, but are of interest to people in the Drupal community. Think HTML5, jQuery, Agile development, the Drupal site development process, SEO, etc.

We hope to have the website up and running shortly, for now, please either contact me at euan@euanbayliss.co.uk or add your session below!

Euan

Agile development??

rachel_norfolk's picture

Did I mention I passed my DSDM Advanced Practitioner exam the other week?? ;-) (DSDM being an agile methodology).

Oh - that makes me think - my boss just happens to be the DSDM Org Chairman and was planning to come along - would people think it useful to have a session on Agile?

Transit?

chx's picture

It seems there's poor transit from the train station in Cambridge and the only realistic option is car / cab. Should we try to organize cab shares?

..from IRC

stevepurkiss's picture

FYI @jeffveit just posted on #drupal-uk that Busway Routes C and A stop at the station and the science park:

http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/around/usingbusway/buswayrout...

[edit] Jeff added: One thing is that the tickets for the busway that are for more than 1 journey are not valid on buses, and vice versa. If you want to buy a day ticket, you are better off using buses. Also A and C routes on busway (guided bus rail) are different companies so check as tickets may not work on both.

Website in progress and other news

eubielicious's picture

Dear all,

To sum up people have expressed interest in presenting on responsive design (Matt Fielding, Tim Davison), Features (Rachel Lawson) and Text inputs and filters (myself), others have expressed interest, for example, in running a session on Module Development.

We also have interest from chx in hosting a 'Hackspace' and from James Abrahams in hosting a CRM Sprint session.

I see no reason why we can't have sprints and hackspace running parallel to the organised sessions.

I'm also planning a first session icebreaker which will give everyone present an opportunity to find people both that they can learn from, and that they can help in the learning process, this will also help give people a boost to create and run sessions on Sunday, which will be run along the lines of a BarCamp/BoF (Birds of a Feather), at least until lunchtime. We intend to finish about 3pm, as public transport will, for some, be a little trickier on a Sunday, although I daresay that collaboration space can be available later for those who want to continue conversations/coding.

Each formal session on the Saturday will be 1 hour 15 minutes, allowing for Q&A time, whereas on the Sunday probably we'll allow 30 minutes for each mini-session.

I hope all of this makes sense. So, here's the plan from now:
1 - I will contact those who have expressed an interest in sponsoring the event,
2 - I will also contact those who would like to present, so we can create a threaded set of sessions, ideally using a 'New(ish) To Drupal' track and an 'Advanced' track (off the top of my head!),
3 - I will also check those who want to run sessions parallel to the programme what sort of facilities they'd like - namely the hackers and sprinters!!!

Now let's see lots of interest in making this DrupalScienceCamp brilliant. The facilities look fabulous and the fact that we have use of them is an opportunity for all the UK Drupal Community. Come and have fun!

Euan

Looking for...

eubielicious's picture

Hi all,

Just a note to ask if anyone out there would like to run a session on any of the following:

1 - The Drupal Community - who, what, why and how you can contribute,
2 - Installing Drupal, Installation Profiles, with perhaps something on Drupal Gardens/Commons/etc.
3 - An overview of modules, what they do, how to find them and a Top Ten module hit list,
4 - An overview of theming and basic PHP structures that are used in Drupal.
5 - Content types, how to create a variety of content using supplied modules and how to display the content created
6 - An introduction to Views.

We'll have some attendees who have technical skills but who will be new-ish to Drupal, so if anyone can provide these, it would be most helpful.

Please let me know if you would like to take one of these on!

Euan

I could potentially run one

yautja_cetanu's picture

I could potentially run one of the first 3 sessions.

  1. I've been around for about 2 years and more involved in the last 6 months. I have been to one drupalcon, spend time on #drupal-uk and go to the drupal north west user group. I'm not a programmer but go with my programmer so I've seen a bit about the benefits for non-techies and techies. When I first got into Drupal I put specific effort into "cracking the community" and it didn't always go well :P But one thing I did was read every new critical issue post on D7 for about 2 months before it was released.

  2. We've been researching and looking into creating an install profile for churches and so I've played with install profiles quite a bit, installed it from a non-tech standpoint and looked at other install profiles. I've played with drupal gardens quite a bit but not built any commercial sites into it and I originally had a business plan that was going to do software as a service (like gardens) for churches.

  3. I spend quite a bit of my time now searching for modules and researching them. One of the main areas I get paid.

However, I haven't been to a drupal camp before. I don't personally program and so obviously haven't given a talk at a drupal camp before. I dunno how easy it would be to fill 50 mins (is that the length?) so would probably want someone to at least vet anything I prepare. I kind of think I'm relatively new to Drupal, although I have been thinking that for a while now.

Happy to leave it up to someone else to decide!

Module Overview and other things

eubielicious's picture

Hi - thanks for this. I'd suggest a modules overview would make for an excellent talk. I know that once you know what a module is, then the next question is which modules you should consider out of the squillions on the Drupal website. It seems to me that it's easy to fall into the trap of sticking with a set of modules you are familiar with, until you happen on a module and think - "Wow - I didn't know you could do that!".

If you are happier with a shorter time frame, perhaps you might run a session on Sunday, as they'll be shorter and you'll have a smaller group to address.

By the way, I expect there will be plenty of people at the event who won't be hardcore coders, I think I'm in the category of 'know my way round basic PHP but not yet proficient enough to be able to write a module' people.

I adopt the approach that everyone attending the event will have something of value to offer.

Euan

Cool, I'll write up a rough

yautja_cetanu's picture

Cool, I'll write up a rough outline of how I'd do the talk and we can see if that would work.

My understanding of barcamps is that you write up your sessions on the day. I'm thinking of possibly running a couple of sessions for the sunday. (Well one would be the CRM Sprint, possibly a session about the state of CRM for Drupal and another about Drupal for churches)

Also in terms of requests. I would really like to see a talk on either Continous Integration or the Dev/Live staging thing with Drupal.

BarCamps and BoF sessions

eubielicious's picture

Hi - I think barcamps will allow for people to write their sessions on the day, although they usually ask people to come prepared to speak about something. I'm going to encourage everyone who arrives to come up with something they can talk about on the Sunday.

In my opinion, the Sunday should be as wide ranging as people want it to be, remembering that what we do as Drupallers isn't restricted to Drupal code. So if someone wanted to talk about a productivity tool that works for them, or how to speak to a potential client without scaring them off, or great tools for wireframing and how to make use of them, or user stories etc., then they're all great as far as I'm concerned. There will be potentially about 25 sessions available, so room for all sorts from 'how I solved this really difficult coding problem' to 'how I chose this particular font on this website' to 'how I use OmniFocus/LifeBalance/Things/GTD to organise my projects'.

I'm hoping a little exercise on the Saturday morning will give people ideas.

Transit

rachel_norfolk's picture

I travel from the train station to the Cambridge Science park most days of the week. When you walk out of the train station, you can see a road to your left - about 50 meters down there is a bus stop for the guided bus.

If you purchase a "Day Rider" ticket, you can use it on any buses in Cambridge, including all the guided buses that stop at the Science Park. The journey takes about 20 minutes.

EDIT - and I should add the bus has free wireless Internet on it. Not sure why...

Installer help

rachel_norfolk's picture

Rachel

All booked!

stevepurkiss's picture

Didn't quite get the rooms for £15 - ended up £25ea for Friday and £45ea for Saturday at the Orchard Travelodge

My colleague Craig and I will be traveling up from Brighton on Friday and mooching around Cambridge in the afternoon so if anyone wants to hang out let themselves be known!

Been doing a lot of work on "code-driven" Drupal development - features, profiles, build scripts, etc. so would be happy to show that on Sunday, don't really have a formal talk yet. It's not really beginner stuff though, more for those who are still keeping settings in the database and creating that lovely Drupal Jenga-like stack which could break at any moment ;)

For more the beginners I've been working on "how to think Drupal" with clients including Brighton & Hove City Council - getting people to think about what they're building and for who (using flipcharts and marker pens) before they go off and start downloading anything in order to discover features and contexts and which modules they should be using in order to achieve X - I find Drupal is good if you get the architecture right from the start otherwise it's a bit like a maze and you often end up having to back-track!

Also interested in the CRM sprint, often been looking into CRM and finding it hard to keep up with which one of the many efforts is progressing the most!

My colleague Craig is into jQuery & WebGL stuff in case anyone's in that field.

I videod some of the BoFs and the intro session at DrupalCon London so let me know if you want me to bring along my camera & tripod (not light so don't generally lug it around!) if you haven't got access to one already...

See you all in a couple of weeks!

Proposed session on Responsive web design

timdavison's picture

Hi - not sure if I can add proposed sessions to the website yet so here are my ideas.

Responsive Design Using Fluid Grids

This would cover the following:
1) Overview of responsive design.
A definition of what it is.
The problems it solves (and doesn't)
Responsive vs. Adaptive design.

2) The use of grids in design and development.
Why design with Grids.
Grids in design both on and off the web.
An example grid system (960 grid system).

3) Theming a responsive Drupal site.
Using Detamo - a responsive fluid grid system based on 960.
Walkthrough and examples

This talk is suitable for people newish to Drupal although some knowledge of the
basics of Drupal theming would be useful. However it should also be of interest to
experienced Drupallers.

The Detamo base them can be found at http://drupal.org/project/detamo

Hi all,

If you go to the following page, you can add suggestions for sessions for the Saturday at DrupalCamp, and also Sunday.

http://www.drupalsciencecamp.org.uk/node/add/session

We're looking for people who'd like to run sessions on the following:
- Content types, fields and taxonomy for people new to Drupal,
- Users and permissions,
- Getting started with Views.

Anything else would be welcome too - the more the merrier! Also if you don't want to take an hour on the Saturday, there will be plenty of opportunity on Sunday to run a short session on a topic that interests you.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Euan

maybe hello drupal?

heather's picture

Perhaps one of my colleagues who are planning to come to the event could run a Hello Drupal session.
http://training.acquia.com/hellodrupal

It's really for people who come with bright eyes and lots of questions. We often found the general camp sessions to be too advanced in our experience (in Ireland). So I made this for people who were brand new.

You can run it like a real hands on 3 hour session as a track for beginners, alongside an advanced track of sessions. And then come back together for everyone to join in afternoon sessions. This is what we tried recently and it worked really well!

One of my friends also ran it like a 45 mins demo session to a huge crowd. So you can run through the main points and have the preso all ready set to go.

If you do run Hello Drupal, please tell us so we can get the date on the site :)

DrupalScienceCamp sessions and programme details

eubielicious's picture

Hi all,

First of all, a very big 'THANK YOU' to everyone who have proposed sessions on the DrupalScienceCamp website. The programme is starting to look like it'll offer a really excellent mix of subjects and levels, so there will be something for everyone.

Hopefully we'll be able to sort out the timings and sessions and approve those later today, so you can start to prepare for what you want to attend.

It's not too late to propose sessions: either a session you will run yourself or a session you'd like someone else to run. The 'formal' Saturday sessions are an hour long (well, 55 minutes to allow for time for room switching) and we have the facilities to run lots of them simultaneously.

If you want to propose a session, go to this page: http://www.drupalsciencecamp.org.uk/node/add/session

To look at what's already been proposed, go to this page: http://www.drupalsciencecamp.org.uk/program/sessions/proposed

The Saturday will start with registration at 9am with the programme beginning with announcements at 10am. We expect the day to end formally at 6pm.

Sunday will start at 10am and finish at 3pm. With the exception of a short opening session, lunch and the closing session, the rest of the time will be taken up with BarCamp/OpenSpaces/BoF type sessions. Although there are six timeslots, each of which take up 30 minutes (well, 25 minutes to allow for room switching), there's no reason why sessions can't run in multiples of 30 minutes, so if you want to have a longer discussion about a topic, you can do so. I will make sure that everyone is well primed to make the Sunday sessions a roaring success!!!

(If you're not attending the Saturday but are attending the Sunday, let us know so we can be there to welcome you as well as give you information ahead of the day so you can hit the ground running)

Friday evening

iaine's picture

What time is the early registration on Friday? I'm assuming that there is car parking on site during the day as I'm commuting to the event, or would I need to use the Milton park park & ride? Thanks.

Friday registration isn't happening...

eubielicious's picture

Hi Iain,

We have decided that having an extra Friday registration would be more trouble than it's worth. We're going to have registration for everyone at the venue on Saturday morning at 9-10am.

I'm sorry if this causes any problems but I think many will be travelling on the Friday afternoon/evening and finding a time that will work for everyone will be too difficult.

Thanks,

Euan

Thanks

Hi Euan,

Fair enough. Thanks for letting me know. Looking forward to the event though.

Friday night drinks?

So are people getting together on Friday evening for pre-camp drinks and chatter?
I'm trying to work out whether it is worth coming over on the Friday afternoon, or travelling at silly o'clock on Saturday morning!
Really looking forward to it!

Friday evening

eubielicious's picture

Hi Finn,

At the moment there's nothing planned for Friday evening. We decided that having early registration on Friday was probably more trouble than it was worth, as people will be arriving at all hours, I would think many will be travelling on Friday (as I am) and there will be a few coming to the event on Saturday morning.

I'm arriving on the Friday,

I'm arriving on the Friday, so I'd be interested in meeting up somewhere if anyone's interested. Maybe someone local can recommend a pub? I wouldn't think there's any need for a formal event or anything, but if we can specify a location than those who want to have a pint on the Friday can join in. It would be a lot more fun than hanging out in the Travelodge!

Us too...

We're aiming to be in Cambridge early afternoon and up for coffee / beer / drupal!

and us...

I think we're aiming to be in Cambridge mid-afternoon if a meet-up is happening. I need to be in Peterborough in the early evening so can't stay too long. i would suggest somewhere but my knowledge of Cambridge is a little out of date.

I don't think there's been

I don't think there's been any more movement on this. I would think there's a good chance that people who might be interested in meeting up will be staying at the travelodge tonight (at least I am!). So maybe meet in the lobby around 6 then head out? Grab some food, drinks, etc? I'll hopefully be in Cambridge by then, as long as my afternoon meeting doesn't run long. For others maybe just tweet locations if you're out and about #drupalsciencecamp

sounds like a plan...

should be arriving around 5pm so will head over to drop stuff off at the hotel first and hopefully see you in the lobby around 6!

...am enjoying a nice beer in the hotel bar so see people in a bit hopefully!

I'm still in the city centre,

I'm still in the city centre, at The Bath House on Bennett Street. I'm with James (random Drupal meeting!). The pub is ok-ish (Green King), there is wifi, and I've got power. Just ordering some food now.

So I won't be in the hotel lobby at 6pm (ahem, 3 mins ago)...

Tweet me @finnlewis or text me 07966 776 903 when you're heading in to town. Would be good to meet up!

At the Golden Hind

We are at the Golden Hind near the venue as @waako and @kaelle76 are on their way here in a bit - just in case anyone else is around!

Hi,

Yes, I'm staying at the Orchard Park Travelodge on the Saturday night. I think a few are doing the same and I know of one or two staying in the Lovell Lodge B&B which is on the other side of the Science Park.

Last minute appeal for Apple laptop/iPad adapters

eubielicious's picture

Dear all,

It's likely that we will have lots of Mac laptop users wanting to present at the event, but of course we need lots of adapters to they can connect to the projectors.

So if you've got spare VGA adapters for Apple laptops and iPad that you can loan us for the weekend we'll be really grateful and it will also mean a better weekend for everyone.

We'll work out some kind of system so we don't get everything mixed up and so you can get your adapter back on Sunday afternoon.

See you on Saturday!

Last couple of places left!!

rachel_norfolk's picture

When we started this, someone said "are you sure you have enough room?" and I just laughed it off, thinking there was no way we would get so many people sign up...

Well, we have done! So far 61 people are registered and, unless you all want to sit on the floor, I can really only squeeze a couple more in. So - if you're holding off sign up right now!!!

(a very happy) Rachel

Thank you!

Thank you Euan and Rachel for a brilliant DrupalScienceCamp. You both worked really hard to make it successful. I learnt a great deal and hope you'll organise one next year!
